It's time once again to call in the creative forces of various ghoulish minds out there to compete in The Jeff Rense - Brad Steiger 2014 Halloween Splash Art & True Ghost Story Contest! Top placing winners will receive a cash prize and awesome Brad Steiger books!

We're looking for everything from the spooky to the spoofy, scary or hairy, funny or ghastly! Artworks can be political, humorous or dead (hehe) serious, so long as they maintain the Halloween/Horror theme. (Please, no abstract art or physical art or sculptures! Should be representational imagery dealing with the Haloween or Horror related theme. And slapping Dick Cheney's head on a spider won't cut it! Putting Obama in a tutu and covering him in pig blood won't either! Come on, folks... get WEIRD! Get CREATIVE! All entries will be evaluated for quality and not all entries will be posted, at our discretion.) Depressing images of violence, death, misery, suffering and malaise do NOT constitute a HALLOWEEN/HORROR theme in the vein we are looking for. This isn't a Death image contest... it's a Halloween/Horror splash art contest. Dark, spooky, frightening and macabre is fine but if our judges believe the theme is not being met, the entry won't be accepted into the contest and don't have time to reply (or discuss) your entry if it's rejected. Look at last years winners to get a handle on what we're after.
FORMAT: Please only submit JPG images, keep the resolution anywhere between 72-100, size should be maximum 568 pixels wide x a maximum depth of 600 pixels (if you want to submit a larger version we can shrink it for display). Flash animations welcome if kept under 2 megs and playable by even old versions of flash player. Remember, these images are intended to fit our main page splash art section. You may present your artwork anonymously or with a pseudonym, but for those who want attention we'll gladly credit your name, website, email -- just tell us specifically how you wish to be credited. Each person can enter up to 2 splashes. If you want to collect prize money, YOU MUST HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. Paypal is free and ez. Book winners must supply an address to receive their book prize.

TRUE Ghost Story Contest...
We're looking for genuine real-life encounters with the SUPERNATURAL. Could be something from your past, or a recent event that sent shivers down your spine or left you spellbound before the awesome and mysterious world of the unseen and metaphysical. Only TRUE stories, please! No fiction. Submissions must be 1000 words or less and sent "in" the body of an email. No attached docs, please. All stories should be FIRST HAND accounts. You may present your story anonymously or with a pseudonym, but for those who want attention we'll gladly credit your name, website, email, whatever you like -- just tell us specifically how you wish to be credited. PLEASE PROOF YOUR SUBMISSIONS AND SPELL CHECK IT! You may enter up to 2 stories. If you want to collect prize money YOU MUST HAVE A PAYPAL ACCOUNT. Paypal is free and ez. Book winners must supply an address to receive their book prize. PHOTOS: We will accept ghost stories (first hand accounts only) with 1-2 accompanying original ghost photographs (no 'reference' photos, please). Such entries will be carefully scrutinized and not all entries will be accepted. This is primarily a ghost STORY contest, not a ghost photo contest. As we do not have time to communicate with all participants, your story appearing in the entries will tell you if your submission has been accepted or not.
