 Jaime Ferrer, an investigator and researcher
of the blood predator, or commonly known as chupacabras, assures that since
April of 1990, the amount of dead animals involved in this phenomenon surpasses
the 5,000. The victims include everything from canaries to horses, doves,
ducks, geese, hens, rabbits, cats, dogs, lambs, goats, ewes, flames, vicunas,
and alpacas.

- May 28, 2001 - For months, he has devoted great part
of his time to investigate tracks made by the so-called chupacabras in
a region of Chile. Not satisfied with his findings, he is now ready to
hunt one down. With methodical and carefully planned work, he feels certain
that he will catch one very soon. Jaime Ferrer, in the middle of his daily
busy routine, was able to grant us this interview for Canal Ovni from Terra...

- Since when have you been interested in these subjects?
-
- Since May of the 2000, after a particular experience
that my wife went through outside our children's school, which was witnessed
by many others and concluded a few days later with the deaths of a sheep
and a lama, the school pets. From that date, curiosity drove me to investigate
and conduct research about these strange events. Using resources, such
as the Internet, I contacted other researchers so they would give me information
about this subject. Nevertheless, after contacting Dr. Virgilio Sanchez-Ocejo,
and assuring me that no one is really an expert in this field, or at least
not yet, I decided to conduct more "in depth" investigations,
and I must admit, it gets more intriguing by the day.

- Do you believe that the chupacabras is still in the II
Region?
-
- Without a doubt, the presence of these incredible predators
in the northern region of Chile is very obvious. The attacks continue and
I can assure these entities are possibly even reproducing. Nevertheless,
incredibly, after some investigations, I've found out about the presence
of some unknown organizations that are controlling their proliferation,
which it has been reported to our local newspaper, as well as to other
news sources, including websites like mine.

- Are we talking about a chupacabra or chupacabras?
-
- Personally, I talk about the blood predators. I know
that it is not the suitable name for them, but is a little more formal.
The definitive name will occur when one of these entities gets caught and
will be scientifically studied and classified. We still don't know the
exact amount of the creatures roaming our area, but I believe the number
is greater than fifty. In addition, it is necessary to consider that there
are other types of these species; I have received a significant amount
of reports about the presence of other types of strange creatures, which
have been compared with birds, cats, dogs, apes, and humanoids, to which
all of them are being investigated and I don't discard their existence.

- In what areas of Chile have these attacks been spotted?
-
- At the moment, they're only in the II Region of Chile.
According to information given to us by ufologist Liliana NÒez from
Santiago, there are more than 130 throughout our country where these predators
have been spotted. However, due to strong reasons, I've felt compelled
to stay in this area because it has been turned into a real Mecca of paranormal
activity and strange phenomena.

- Do you have statistical data?
-
- The statistical data regarding all of the animal deaths
in the region would be too complicated to gather because there are different
types of attacks on different animals; therefore, no one has been able
to keep accurate data. Nevertheless, considering that only one of 35 deaths
is known, I could assure that between the periods of April of the 2000
to this date, the amount of dead animals surpasses 5,000. We must consider
that the victims invollocal radio stations for their devoted support regarding
this phenomenon. Unfortunately, the rest of the national media has been
somewhat skeptic and evasive towards this. To a point, some of us understand
why; it's because the events that are involved are for the most part unexplained.
Another reason could be that it's not considered relevant to them, so they
cover more "significant' stories. Nevertheless, I know that our population,
which is an important part of the international community, handles these
events with great importance, which motivates me to continue with my work
because somebody has to face this reality.

- Does a relationship exist between UFOs and the chupacabras
phenomena?
-
- Yes, there's a close relationship between both phenomena.
We even have talked with witnesses who have been astounded after watching
how these species are disembarked from spaceships, which initially looked
like gigantic meteorites illuminating the area, but really turned out to
be the means of transportation for these creatures, to which we still know
very little about.

- Do you believe that NASA or some other American organization
has been in the area?
-
- There's a great amount of witnesses that claim to have
seen airplanes with NASA logos, as well as strange vehicles that did not
fulfill the aviation norms; moreover, other witnesses and facts have pointed
out that those organizations, without a doubt, are being directly involved
in conducting some kind of search operation to find or hunt down those
creatures. However, they haven't achieved their objective and those creatures
are still on the loose.

- Were there "Men in Black" in the Segunda Region
in Chile?
-
- Ever since the massive attacks in Calama began, we knew
of the presence of certain characters that intimidated the witnesses of
these predator attacks, but we never knew their true identity. Nevertheless,
thanks to our investigations, we have managed gather enough information
about what their physical appearance and intimidation tactics. For more

MIB presence is something real and it goes beyond our human logic or comprehension.

- What comes now in your investigations?
-
- I've been investigating the northern Chile phenomena
for more than a year now. I am convinced that there is a tangible reality
that warrants a serious and responsible evaluation because the problem
not only involves animal deaths, but it manifests with psychosomatic symptoms
on human beings as well. I have seen how information regarding this phenomenon
has been weakened; where the hermetism and the disinformation have gone
so far as to say that it is wild dogs are mutilating other animals by means
of sophisticated laser surgery cuts. Moreover, some have claimed that it
is dogs that are sucking all the blood, and in many cases, great part of
the internal organs of their victims, and are even capable of extracting
the brain matter of animals through a 2 millimeter puncture wound, which
I consider preposterous. It is clear that we are not facing a natural predator,
the fact that it cannot be understood is no reason to ignore it or for
not studying it, on the contrary, since the first wave of attacks came
about, and we realized that they differed from ordinary predator attacks,
a commission should've been appointed to study the phenomenon. But until
now, everything what we have seen is a total indifference as opposed to
this phenomenon. Personally I believe that there are strong reasons involved
and that they go beyond wanting to avoid a potential public chaos. All
the investigations are oriented to demonstrate the existence of these entities.
We have already established that; nevertheless, we hope and expect to find
even more.

- How do you think the mass media has handled this matter?
-
- I want to give special thanks to Mr. Cesar Rosas, a journalist
from the newspaper "La Estrella del Loa" in Calama, because he's
been our media contact throughout these events; he has handled our reports
and information very effectively.
