- KARACHI - Leaders of several
religious parties on Thursday expressed apprehension that the US arms build
up in the region is a conspiracy to destroy Pakistan's nuclear capability.
They also expressed the hope that all Muslim forces would strongly retaliate
against any military action in Afghanistan and warned the US and the UK
against any display of force against Muslims.
"The US intrusion in the region is a conspiracy to destroy Pakistan's
nuclear capability," said one leader while addressing a meeting to
protest the Americans presence in the region. Addressing a public meeting
at Labour Square, New Karachi, chief of Sunni Tehreek, Muhammad Abbas Qadri,
urged all Muslims to unite to counter the conspiracies of the US and the
Zionist lobbies.
He said that the present war was not between the US and Afghanistan; in
fact it was a conspiracy to take over Pakistan and disarm her nuclear capabilities.
Qadri urged President General Pervez Musharraf to take notice of certain
elements in the government who were working for the interests of the anti-Pakistan
and anti-Muslim forces and track them down. He said that such elements
should be rooted out and charged with treason so that no official in the
future would dare to be disloyal to the national interests.
The ST chief urged citizens to unite in the present crisis and display
the enthusiasm shown in 1965 so that all states having ill intentions towards
Pakistan could be defeated. In another event, Ameer of Jama'at Ahl-e-Sunnat
Pakistan, Karachi Division, Allama Syed Shah Turabul Haq Qadri has lamented
that despite the constant threats against the Muslim forces, the Ummah
have taken no serious step to counter the coercion by the Zionist and Jewish
forces.
He said that it is surprising that the Organisation of Islamic Conference
is adopting a silent stance and no meeting has been held after the September
11 events in which the entire world has united against the Muslims and
has labelled them as terrorists.
Addressing a Jihad conference in Federal B Area, Allama Qadri said that
Islam has clearly called for Jihad in every case where anti-Islamic forces
pose a threat to Muslims. In the present situation the US and the entire
Europe is out to victimise the Muslims in Afghanistan yet the rulers of
all Muslim countries are only trying to save their governments in fear
of the US.
He said that the Zionist and Jewish lobby was using Osama bin Laden as
only an excuse in order to dominate the South Asian region and their real
aim was to destroy Pakistan's nuclear capability as it is the only Muslim
nuclear state.
The other Jama'at leaders, who also addressed the conference, renewed their
pledge to lay down their lives for the defence of Islam and all Muslim
countries and warned the US against any military action against Afghanistan
as it would have world-wide repercussions.
Meanwhile Markazi Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan has announced to observe a period
of Defence of Pakistan and in this connection various public meetings,
demonstrations and conferences would be held, in which scholars would shed
light on the conspiracies being hatched against Pakistan and the Ummah.
Furthermore, ulema would inform the public about the evil designs of the
Jewish lobby and Israel regarding their role in the September 11 events
and the victimisation of Muslims in Palestine during the Friday sermons
and various mosques.
