Leave Pakistan For Afghanistan

MAIDAN - The Tehrik Nafaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM) has decided to send the first batch of volunteers for Jihad to Afghanistan against the US and its allies today (Thursday) to be headed by Malik Mahmud Jan. The Tehrik amir Maulana Sufi Muhammad will also accompany the group.

Addressing an armed protest rally against US-led air strikes on Afghanistan, Maulana Sufi Muhammad said Jihad is mandatory on Muslims as America has launched a war on Afghans and killing innocent people in the guise of campaign against terrorism. He said it was a war between Islam and the infidels.

He accused the government of providing information to the Americans about Osama bin Laden and Mulla Muhammad Omer and other sensitive spots. Sufi Muhammad said thousands of activists from Malakand division would leave for Jihad in groups and the first group would leave here today (Thursday), to be led by Malik Mahmud Jan and he (Sufi) will accompany it.

He said any move to stop them from going to Afghanistan would be resisted and Jihad would be launched against those trying to stop them. The Maulana asked the people to be ready for Jihad and keep arms and ammunition. He warned the government of stern resistance if it tried to stop volunteers from crossing over into Afghanistan.

Addressing the rally Maulana Ziaul Haq held the Pakistan government responsible for killing of innocent Afghans. He warned the government to expel the representatives of Zahir Shah and Northern Alliance from the country otherwise the Mujahideen would launch suicide attacks on them and kill them if spotted any where.

Malik Mahmud Jan, Maulana Hamdullah, Maulana Habibur Rahman and Maulana Wazir Zada also spoke on the occasion. They lashed out at the government for supporting the United States. Any conspiracy to install Zahir Shah or other imposed solution on Afghanistan would be foiled and Jihad would be launched against the Americans as well as those supporting them.

Our Daggar correspondent adds: Armed activists of Tehrik Nafaz Shariat-e-Muhammadi on Wednesday camped near here for the night on their way to join Jihad for defence of Afghanistan.

The TNSM chief Maulana Sufi Mohammad has declared the war against the US Jihad and asked his followers to join the Taliban. They will spend the night at Koh-e-Daman, Baba Jee Kandow under open sky before leaving for Afghanistan via Bajaur on Thursday (today) morning.

The call for Jihad was made through loudspeakers on Tuesday evening. The announcers asked the fighters to camp at Baba Jee Kandow, some eight kilometres from here. Wearing black turbans and Kalashnikovs in their hands a large number of people headed for the campsite. "More than a thousand activists, aged from 14 to 80, armed with Kalashnikovs have gathered at the camp," an eyewitness said.

Addressing the activists, the TNSM Buner district chief Maulana Salar and Maulana Mohammad Amin declared the camp area as battlefield and directed the trained fighters to follow security measurements. Every intending fighter was asked to bring at least Rs 1,000 cash and a gun.

They said that the central chief has directed them to peacefully move towards Timergara on Thursday. However, they made it clear that no blockade would be tolerated. They warned of armed clash if the government tried to stop them on their way to Afghanistan.

About 20,000 persons armed with sophisticated arms attended the TNSM rally at Maidan, Kumbar. Activists from Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Bisham and Kohistan districts and Malakand Agency have reached Kumber as the first batch of Mujahideen will leave for Afghanistan today. According to reliable sources the government has called the Frontier Corps personnel and APCs from Peshawar to handle any eventuality.

Our Mingora correspondent adds: Thousands of TNSM activists armed with sophisticated weapons staged protest demonstrations at different parts of Swat district. They later proceeded to Maidan, Dir, to leave for Afghanistan to join the Jihad against US there.
