Bin Laden Has Pakistani Hideouts
Says Northern Alliance
11-21-1

(AFP) - Suspected terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden is still in southern Afghanistan but also travels to secret hideouts in Pakistan, a senior Northern Alliance official said.

"Osama is still in southern Afghanistan," alliance interior minister Younis Qanooni told AFP.

"He sometimes travels to Pakistan where he also has secret places," Qanooni said.

The claim prompted a swift and angry denial from Islamabad.

"There is absolutely no truth in this. Osama bin Laden has never been to Pakistan," said government spokesman Anwar Mahmood.

"This is all imaginery," Mahmood said, adding that bin Laden would have been arrested long ago if he had been making regular trips to Pakistan.
