- Important information is still being gleaned from the
documents found during an IDF raid six weeks ago on the PA's Protective
Security Service headquarters in Gaza. The most recent reports, released
yesterday, are that PA officials and institutions have been stealing, since
1996, basic food supplies and medicine designated for their own underprivileged
neighbors. The supplies, provided by the United Nation's UNRWA organization
and Arab countries, ended up being sold on the black market, with great
profits for the various middlemen.

- IDF sources say that the army has long been aware of
the phenomenon, that most of the thefts took place at the Rafiach border
crossing, and that Fatah leader and PA Minister of Supplies Abu Ali Shahin
- a close aide to Yasser Arafat - is responsible.
