DENVER, CO -- Average citizens will now be able to gauge whether or not Iraq actually poses a threat to them and their families, thanks to a new report (http://www.prioritypeace.org) issued today by one of National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice's former professors at the University of Denver (DU).

Dr. Alan Gilbert, distinguished John Evans Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at DU, said the new report "lays out the facts and exposes Bush Administration claims as nothing short of a deliberate pattern of deception."

The report titled, "Target Iraq: Imminent Threat Analysis," systematically examines three key claims by the Bush Administration underpinning its allegation that Iraq poses an imminent threat to the U.S. The three areas examined in the report are Iraq's alleged ties to Al-Qaeda, Iraq's nuclear program and Iraq's ability to deliver weapons of mass destruction.

Iraq and Al-Qaeda - In spite of extensive efforts to find a link, there is no association between the Iraqi regime, Al-Qaeda and the September 11 terrorists. Leaked British intelligence reports and accounts of current and former CIA agents clearly show Al-Qaeda and Ansar Al-Islam have no connection to the Iraqi regime.

Iraq's Nuclear Weapons - Despite claims by President Bush that Iraq is six months away from building a nuclear weapon, U.N. weapons inspectors - after extensive and intrusive, on-the-ground investigations - reveal that, "The IAEA has found no sign of nuclear activity at any of these sites."

Iraq's WMD Delivery Systems - While Secretary of State Colin Powell alluded that Iraq is developing weapon delivery systems that threaten the U.S., Dr. Hans Blix reported that, "The experts also studied the data on the missile engine test stand that is nearing completionS So far, the test stand has not been associated with a proscribed activity."

The new 82-page report is available to the public online at www.prioritypeace.org.
