- The Education Ministry of Thailand has banned the use
of flavour enhancer monosodium glutamate (MSG) in school meals, along with
other potentially harmful food additives.
- Any firms found to be using MSG in food that is supplied
to schools after the start of the next semester could face legal action,
according to Deputy Education Minister Sirikom Maneerin.
- The Education Ministry also aims to promote food safety
