- What would you do if you
- Knew all the things we knew?
- Would you stand up for truth?
- Or would you turn away too?
-
- And then what if you saw
- All of the things that's wrong?
- Would you stand tall and strong?
- Or would you turn and walk away?
-
- So begins San Francisco rapper Paris' new song What Would
You Do? from his upcoming album, Sonic Jihad. If you go to Paris' site
at <http://www.guerrillafunk.com/>www.guerrillafunk.com you can download

-
- Paris' message is simple.
-
- Hard Truth Soldier's Manifesto
-
- 1. To be strong and irreverent in the face of oppression,
and to be fearless in our opposition to it;
-
- 2. To encourage and support efforts by those individuals
and/or groups adopting a conscious stance, who reflect positivity in an
ongoing climate of ever-increasing intolerance and suppression of counter-establishment
thought;
-
- 3. To reject and cause others to reject information,
products, entertainment, popular media and music that are damaging to our
communities, and that further support and reinforce negative stereotyping;
-
- 4. To routinely question authority and the legitimacy
of those in positions of influence (politicians, media, pundits, entertainers,
etc.), to examine and/or counteract their official assessments of events
as they occur, and to recognize and dispel negative propaganda when we
see it;
-
- 5. To share and encourage others to share needed and
relevant information as much as possible;
-
- 6. To respect others and live by example in private and
public life;
-
- 7. To stand up for truth, freedom, justice and equality
for all people.
-
- I'm not going to give you the full lyrics from What Would
You Do? because you need to go download and hear it for yourself.

-
- The rappers of the 80's and early 90's knew what they
were talking about. That's why they've all been blacklisted today, and
get no radio play. Paris, Public Enemy, Ice-T, Tupac, Niggers With Attitude,
KRS-One, and others, all knew the time.
-
- They tried to warn us that the LAPD was corrupt to the
bone, and that framing people was standard practice.
-
- Like the Black Panthers, they advocated self-defense
against corrupt homicidal cops. And they were called evil for it. It
took almost two decades to get an investigation of the LAPD Rampart Division,
which resulted in more than a hundred convictions of innocent people being
overturned.
-
- The rappers warned that Freedom Of Speech was being eroded
by the Republican party. Under today's Republican administration,
once again, telling the truth has become 'evil'. On September
26, 2001, we had Ari Fleischer telling us that Americans, 'needed to watch
what they say, watch what they do'.
-
- They warned that America stood for Genocide. Between
1991 and 2003, America and the UK, the only countries still insisting that
the sanctions on Iraq stay in place, have killed around two million Iraqis,
HALF OF THEM CHILDREN.
-
- They warned that the CIA was the one bringing the cocaine
into black neighborhoods. Years later, we now know this to be true.
-
- Today, Paris brings us a warning about the loss of Constitutional
rights.
-
- Oil blood money makes these killers ride cold
- Suspicious suicides people dyin' never told
- It's all a part of playin' God so ya think we need 'em
- While B and Ashcroft take away ya rights to freedom
- Bear witness to the sickness of these dictators
- Hope you understand the time brother cause it's major
-
- He also brings a warning about Corporatism, to whit Fascism,
and how the Carlyle Group, which employs Bush Sr., has been profiteering
off war, genocide, and slavery.
-
-
- And with the 4th Amendment gone eyes are on the 1st
- That's why I'm spittin' cyanide each and every verse
- I see the Carlyle Group pooping Harris Bank Accounts
- I see 'em plead the 5th each and every session now
-
- And while Reichstag burns I see the public buy it
- I see the profiling see the media's compliance
- War is good for business see the vicious make a savior
- Hope you understand the time brother cause its major
-
- This is a man who knows what's going on. As for the
rest of us, as Buffalo Springfield said, "it's time we stopped children,
what's that sound, everybody look what's going down."
-
- Brothers, sisters, I hope you DO understand the time,
cause it's MAJOR.
-
- GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD RUBBISH
-
- This week, MSNBC cancelled the Phil Donahue show. While
many people are complaining about this, including Phil, I say good riddance
to bad rubbish. Phil Donahue is a sellout.
-
- I was delighted when Donahue came back. I'd been a fan
of his for years, and often watch his daytime show. He had energy. He
had opinions. And he had balls. Somewhere between his last show and this
new show, Phil's nuts got cut off. If he wants to go back on TV, I suggest
he go look for them. They're probably sitting in an NBC filing cabinet
somewhere, filed between Propagandist and Pussy.
-
- When Phil had General Barry McCaffrey in the box on live
TV and didn't question him about the Turkey Shoot on the road to Basra,
and about him ordering Iraqi soldiers buried alive, I held my tongue.
When he let Barry the Butcher get away with a multitude of lies about marijuana
without calling him on those lies, I said nothing.
-
- But when he allowed Michael Moore's live appearance to
be bumped for the sniper show without pointing a finger at MSNBC, it started
to piss me off.
-
- Six months later, I can't begin to tell you how glad
I am that Phil's show is gone. While pretending to be a staunch liberal,
Phil spent the last six months giving the Republican right airtime for
their lies and propaganda, without calling them on most of their lies.
On virtually every show, for every position he defended, he allowed the
so-called 'right' to get away with half a dozen bald-faced lies, without
so much as a whisper in defense of the truth.
-
- In doing so, he lost all the respect he'd gained from
me over the years.
-
- So, like I said at the start, good riddance to bad rubbish.
-
- I'm sure many of you will say I'm being too hard on Phil.
Well, consider the following. In six months, not once did he mention:
-
- 1. Skull and Bones
-
- 2. Vesting Order 248 and the Bush family's use of Jewish
slave labor
-
- 3. BNL bank or Rumsfeld and Bush 41's use of it to arm
Saddam illegally
-
- 4. Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell's stock portfolios
-
- 5. US and Iranian involvement in both Iraq's civil wars
-
- 6. Thomas Kean's business relationship with Bin Laden's
brother in law
-
- 7. FBI Director Robert Mueller's cover-ups in the BCCI,
BNL, Noriega, Lockerbie, OKC, and 9/11 investigations
-
- 8. The use of excessive force against protestors in Oregon,
NYC, and DC
-
- 9. The use of slave labor by CCA and Wackenhut Corrections;
and the parallels between the US Prison industry's use of slave labor and
the use of slave labor by IG Farben in Nazi Germany
-
- 10. The use of the Patriot Act to disempower first amendment
rights of American citizens like Sherman Austin of Raise the Fist
-
- 11. Protests at CNN over deceptive reporting practices
-
- 12. The numerous appointments of the sons and grandsons
of Nazi collaborators to diplomatic posts by G W Bush
-
- 13. The direct correlation between Bush's intervention
in Afghanistan and the resumption of opium production by America's allies
-
- 14. The destruction of the Freedom of Information Act
through at least 300 rollbacks of Clinton FOIA policies by John Ashcroft
and G W Bush
-
- 15. The identical job descriptions of the Gestapo and
Office of Homeland Security, according to the US state departmentÕs
own description of the Gestapo in the Nuremburg Trials
-
- 16. The attempts by FEMA to use America's children to
solicit personal information about their parents through the FEMA website
-
- 17. Colin Powell's involvement in covering up the My
Lai massacre
-
- 18. Dick Cheney trading with Iraq, Iran, and Libya (I
may be wrong about this one)
-
- 19. John Ashcroft running for Governor on the grounds
that racial integration and desegregation were an, 'outrage to human decency'
-
- 20. Monsanto and Vivendi's theft of water in the third
world with the co-operation of the International Monetary Fund
-
- And those are just the obvious issues that should have
been addressed, given that Phil had six months to get information out there.
There are many more.
-
- Some will argue that if he'd talked about these things,
or pushed his guests into a corner, he'd have been taken off the air sooner.
And you're right. He would have. But he'd have kept his soul intact,
and made MSNBC look really bad for taking a journalist who was willing
to ask the hard questions off the air. As things stand, he's deservedly
going out like a neutered lamb instead of as a lion.
-
- Phil, come back when you find your testicles. And have
a few words with the producers who forced you to into a position where
you couldn't tell the truth. These people aren't your friends. You were
once a brave Soldier of Truth. What happened?
-
- KILLING THE MESSENGERS
-
- Once again, the US Government is on a crusade to the
rid the world of competition for American corporations. In their latest
fascist crusade, the targets are hemp and marijuana activists. The government
is denying medicine to sick people, many of them terminal cancer patients,
making sure they suffer needlessly and die not only from pain and decay,
but also from slow starvation. The agents taking part in these raids should
be jailed for torture and murder.
-
- It's not just Republicans doing this. The dirty work
started in 1997 under Clinton. After California passed Proposition 215
allowing medical marijuana for sick people, a man named Todd McCormick
started growing marijuana as research for a book on how to grow medical
marijuana. Also arrested was a women named Rene Boje. The charges against
Ms. Boje were initially dropped, but a year later; her lawyer discovered
that the charges were about to be reinstated, so Rene was forced to flee
to Canada.
-
- They've been trying to extradite Rene ever since, but
so far, she's still here, and doing well. I spoke to her and her husband
Chris three days ago. Their one-year-old Shiva, whose birthday was yesterday,
February 28, is also doing well.
-
- You can check out Chris's work at <http://www.pottv.com/>www.pottv.com
-
- Rene is one of the lucky ones. There are MANY people
rotting in California prisons or awaiting trial on federal charges in a
clear violation of State's rights. One of those men is Ed Rosenthal.
-
- Ed is a medical marijuana grower who's being crucified
by that Nazi prick John Ashcroft. Ed is facing 5 to 85 years in a federal
pen for legal gardening. He was legally growing medical marijuana for
sick people under California's Proposition 215 when he got busted by the
Feds.
-
- Ed was recently convicted by a jury for cultivation of
marijuana. But the trial was rigged. The DA lied to a grand jury, telling
them Ed's marijuana growing wasn't covered under California law, which
it is. Then the judge refused to allow Ed's witnesses, and refused to
allow anyone to tell the Jury that Ed was legally growing his marijuana
under Prop 215. Now that the jury has found out the truth, more than half
of them have spoken out publicly, demanding the verdict be overturned because
they were lied to by the government.
-
- www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread15510.shtml
-
- "It's not every day jurors apologize to the person
they convicted just days after they issued their verdict. But that's exactly
what happened in the trial of Ed Rosenthal, convicted of three federal
felonies for cultivating marijuana. He faces between five and 85 years
in prison.
-
- Jurors said if they had known Rosenthal was acting as
an officer of Oakland under a city ordinance to grow marijuana for cooperatives
and patients for medical use, they would never have convicted him..."
-
- "...It's the most horrible mistake I've ever made
in my entire life," said one juror. "Ed Rosenthal is not a criminal.
He should never have been convicted. He needs a jury that is allowed to
hear all the evidence." Eight jurors went public with their criticism
and called for a new trial."
-
- This is just the tip of the iceberg. Thousand of tonnes
of legal hemp products have been seized by the US Government over the last
few years, even though they meet the American-drafted standard for maximum
THC content. Barry Òthe ButcherÓ McCaffrey, who I mentioned
earlier, was instrumental in these seizures when he was engaged in corporate
protectionism as US Drug Czar.
-
- General McCaffrey's logic was that someone who was to
buy and boil a large number of hemp cloth could then drink the water and
get high. Never mind that it would cost several hundred dollars to get
enough THC out of hemp cloth to get you high. Never mind that the dilution
factor of drinking the several gallons of water would ensure that the likelihood
of getting a buzz from the water would be slim to none. Hemp clothing
is 'evil'.
-
- What's 'evil' about it is that the hemp plant is the
world's most versatile plant, and people can grow it themselves because
it's so hardy. It doesn't need the heavy insecticides that maise and cotton
require. It grows almost anywhere. It's fiber is three times as strong
as cotton, and can be made into nylons or pantyhose that NEVER RUN. When
people realize how versatile hemp is, they won't want anything else except
maybe silk and velvet.
-
- Hemp is one of the only plants that produces enough biomass
and vegetable oil to be used as a source of both ethanol and biodiesel.
It can be used to make cloth, paper, lip balm, rope, thread, and medicine.
In short, itÕs a miracle plant.
-
- And that's precisely why the government wants hemp destroyed.
One of Barry McCaffrey's stated goals as Drug Czar was the elimination
of all psychotropic plants within ten years. In otherwords, anything and
everything that canÕt be patented which could compete with US Pharmaceuticals.
Hemp, marijuana, unprocessed coca leaves (which are NOT harmful like cocaine),
peyote, san pedro cactus, and many species of mushroom, are all marked
for death by the United States government.
-
- This one plant, hemp, can compete with the Wall Street
textile industries, chemical industries, energy industries, pharmaceutical
industries, cosmetic industries, clothing industries, pulp and paper industries,
and logging industries. It could end the need of war for oil, strip logging
for pulp and paper and the ingestion of harmful synthetic chemicals which
are all being forced on us by a very small group of very rich people who
control the electoral process with their campaign finance money.
-
- It would help We, the People, tremendously, and hurt
big business. God forbid.
-
- To keep people from thinking the government is engaging
in protectionism for Wall Street, the DEA has been giving the Fed's campaign
against hemp some cover by going after head shops. A few days ago, they
raided a ton of head shops and took all their inventory, ruining the ability
of these small businesses to make a living. They even hacked websites
and redirected them to the DEA.
-
- But while this so-called "war on the suppliers
of drug paraphenalia" was going on and being reported in the
news, what wasn't being reported was the massive inventory seizures from
hemp clothing distributors who sell LEGAL hemp clothing in the USA.
-
- Their products comply with the Federal standard drafted
by the USA for maximum THC content, and yet their lives are being ruined,
and their ma and pa businesses destroyed in order to protect Wall
Street's monopoly on cotton, synthetic fabrics, clothing, and textiles.
-
- So Bush says Americans need to open small businesses
during his State of the Union Speech. But when they do, he shuts them
down to protect Cotton and syntethics, while the GOP hires Telemarketers
in NEW DELHI, and engages in taking jobs AWAY from Americans instead of
creating jobs domestically.
-
- I can hear the scoffing and indignation from anti-drug
citizens from here. But before you insist that marijuana is harmful and
that I'm a liar, I ask you to do two things.
-
- First, talk to a terminal cancer patient who's taking
marijuana to help them ease the pain of chemotherapy, and to help boost
their appetite so they can eat and stay strong to fight the cancer. Those
of you who know people who've undergone chemotherapy and seen the before
and after when these cancer patients take marijuana to help combat the
effects of the chemo know what IÕm talking about. Denying these
people marijuana is torture and MURDER.
-
- Second, read the Canadian Senate's report on marijuana.
-
- www.parl.gc.ca/common/Committee_SenRep.asp?Language=E&Parl=37&Ses=1&comm_id=85
-
- The Senate rightly calls the US inclusion of Marijuana
into the Schedule I list of illicit substances to be a 'racist, protectionist
policy'.
-
- Marijuana activists are trying to secure our future
and preserve our natural resources by showing us a renewable, sustainable
source for energy, paper, medicine, and textiles. And they're falling
like flies before Wall Street's lapdogs. They need your support.
-
- The messengers are being shot, and without some public
support, many more will fall before sanity prevails. Please do your part
and take part in actions in your community to help educate people about
the positive economic benefits for We, the Little People, that would come
from the use and mass cultivation of hemp and marijuana.
-
- What would you do if you
- Knew all the things we knew?
- Would you stand up for truth?
- Or would you turn away too?
-
- And then what if you saw
- All of the things that's wrong?
- Would you stand tall and strong?
- Or would you turn and walk away?
-
- The time for action is NOW. What will you do?
