Lenticular Cloud In New Mexico?

From Dave Nelms

These were taken last week at Lake Tahoe in New Mexico by a Dallas surgeon. He took the one with the airplane in it first then waited several minutes before taking the other. A vocal UFO skeptic, he is now experiencing doubt and was reportedly "disturbed" by what he was seeing.

These photos were scanned and I put the larger resolution version here:

Sorry about the rain-spots - my fault.

Mr. Nelms,

I just read your article on Rense.com on lenticular clouds. I am a former U.S. Air Force pilot, a retired airline pilot, and have been flying for over 40 years. Lenticular clouds are a common phenomenon in mountainous regions, especially on the down-wind side. I live in the New Mexico mountains and see lenticular clouds often and there is NOTHING ominous about them. Of course, there are those who think the clouds are a cloaking for a giant alien mothership.

Hi Larry,

Many thanks for your reply. I told the photographer it was a cloud from the get-go but still wanted more input from people like you. I've been studying up on lenticular clouds; check out this picture on the web: http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/ap030326.html

Thanks again,
Dave
