Merit After All

According to this article from The Jerusalem Post, even the US is concerned that Israel will unilaterally strike Iran's nuclear facilities soon. This after striking inside Syria. How long will the Islam/Arab world wait to end it all in the long awaited Armageddon? It appears Israel can do anything they damn well please with all the nukes they have. It would take something just like Mr. Vialls reported to stop them in their tracks, I think.

During Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's last visit to Washington, US President George W. Bush raised his concern that Israel will act unilaterally against Iranian nuclear capabilities, The Washington Post reported.

At least at this stage, the US wants to pursue diplomatic rather than military means to prevent the Iranians from developing nuclear weaponry.

Israel has since responded to the story, Israel Radio reported, stating that Iran's nuclear program has long been on the Bush agenda, and that the US and Israel see "eye to eye" on the issue.

Back in 1981, American and Israeli intelligence estimates differed on how far along Saddam Hussein was in his quest to develop a nuclear bomb. Israel believed that he was close, and Menachem Begin felt the need to act before the Osirak nuclear reactor went online.
