At Least 3 US Soldiers
Killed In Afghanistan

KABUL - At least three US soldiers were killed in eastern Afghanistan after their car went over a mine planted by militants, a top Afghan official said on Saturday, but the US military said that there was only one fatality in the attack.
 
The incident occurred on Friday near a US military base in Manogi district, Kunar province, near the border with Pakistan, said Kunar Governor Sayed Fazl Akbar.
 
US military spokesman Col Rodney Davis said that only one soldier from the US-led force in Afghanistan had been killed.
 
Separately, two militiamen from the mainly Uzbek Junbish faction were killed in fighting agaisnt Tajik Jamiat rivals in Chemtal district, 30 kilometres west of Mazar-e-Sharif, said Juma Khan Hamdar, commander of the Junbish-dominated 8th corps.
 
Gen Abdul Sabor of the Jamiat-dominated 7th corps said that two Junbish were killed but said that the fighting was between villagers of Sayed Sharaf and Junbish militiamen.
 
Separately, at least 12 Afghan nomads, including eight of a family, were killed and seven seriously hurt in an accident in the Wana Zairee area of South Waziristan Tribal Agency on Friday night.
 
Seven women and five children died when the tractor trolley, in which they were travelling, plunged into a ravine during the night. The injured were sent to hospital.
 
The injured were admitted to the Agency Headquarter Hospital, Wana. They said that the incident was took place when a pair of trolley's wheel separated.
