- TIKRIT, Iraq - One 4th Infantry
Division soldier died in an apparent drowning when the vehicle the soldier
was driving slid off the road and went into an adjacent canal.

- Soldiers were in pursuit of a suspicious vehicle, near
Balad, at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 21, when the incident occurred.
Other soldies in the vehicle attempted to extricate the soldier but were
initially unsuccessful. The soldier was removed from the submerged vehicle
a short time later. Attempts made to resuscitate the soldier were unsuccessful.
