Yet another US military helicopter has been forced to make what officials call a "controlled landing" in Iraq.

The US military says an Apache helicopter has been forced down south of Mosul, in northern Iraq, after a fire broke out on board.

It is not know why the helicopter caught fire and there are no reports of any casualties.

Yesterday, a US helicopter made a "controlled hard landing" near the flashpoint town of Falluja west of Baghdad after coming under ground fire.

The two-man crew escaped injury.
