- ARBIL, Iraq (Reuters) --
The death toll from twin suicide attacks in the northern Iraqi town of
Arbil has reached 100, Kurdish television says.
-
- Bombers attacked the offices of the two main political
parties in Iraqi Kurdistan on Sunday. Military officials had previously
reported the death toll at 67, with more than 240 wounded, many critically.
-
- The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Kurdistan
Democratic Party (KDP) both lost many senior officials in the attacks,
timed to coincide with celebrations for the Muslim Eid al-Adha holiday.
-
- Kurdish television also showed pictures of a man it said
was responsible for the bombing at the KDP offices, and offered a reward
for anyone able to identify him.
