State Of The Union -
Applauding Terrorism
From Gena

Hi Jeff...

A quick note as no one has mentioned yet (or to my knowledge) about the State of the Union speech.

I've heard people speaking of the State of the Union speech and how the audience applauded (assumed democratic side no camera shot) the sunset policy on the patriot act in 2005. well i forced my self to watch also and i would like to add to their statements that after bush's remark on the patriot act, the applause was indeed strong, and bush stood there just shaking his head with a disapproving look on his face. once the applause settled bush went on to remark (paraphrased) that we still face terrorism and that's when the (assumed republican side again no camera shot) broke out in an even louder applause.

It was very funny to me (in a sad way) and i literally laughed, at the time, because they were just a little to quick to clap before bush was able to get the full statement out and it made the people applauding look as if they were very happy that we faced the dangers of (alleged) terrorism in this country. all and all it was boring and predictable but it did have moments of revelation as the cameras scanned the audience. i watched on c-span so as not to get the hyped up version but periodically switched to other coverage just to get their angle (a.k.a propaganda sell).

One more interesting thing i noticed was while bush spoke of our military peoples' efforts in the war ... "the script" called for a camera shot of soldiers standing proud in the audience and when they cut the shot towards three soldiers they did play their roles well but one guy cut his clapping a little short and was obviously cued from off camera to return to his clapping which he did but the look on his face .... well you could almost see him rolling his eyes!

It is obvious that our government does NOT live under the same standards and moral codes as many Americans because if they did how could they find the strength to continue to get before the cameras? in the first place, i would never lie and even if i were of that proclivity, i would be too embarrassed and ashamed after already getting caught in all the many lies the bush administration has been caught telling. i would never want to show my face again...on camera or off. they really do think we are all sleeping sheep. but there are still a few awake and aware, and watching and to all of you who are, i salute you!

Thanks jeff, for your above and beyond the call of duty and work. you're very appreciated.

sincerely,
gena
