- Mexico City (Sapa-AFP ) -- A 23-year-old Mexican man
hacked open his father's head after a row and then ate his brain in the
western state of Michigan, justice sources said on Wednesday.

- They said the suspect took a machete and rained blows
on his 62-year-old parent, cracking open his skull after the father failed
to calm his son following an argument.

- The son went on to drink blood from the gaping wound
in his father's head before eating the man's brains during the incident
in the town of Indaparapeo.

- The father unsuccessfully "tried to calm his son
who aggressively began to tear up" work under construction in the
place, a justice official told AFP.

- Officials have so far been unable to confirm neighbours'
accounts that the son had mental problems.
