- Michael Jackson promised to make his 12-year-old accuser
a film star if he said all the right things in Martin Bashir's TV documentary,
it was alleged yesterday.
-
- William Dickerman, a lawyer who represented the boy's
family after the documentary was aired, also said Jackson forced them to
move to his California ranch and took away their passports with a view
to shipping them abroad.
-
- Dickerman claimed the boy was taken to Neverland for
the Bashir documentary even though he hadn't been there for months. He
also said the boy's mum had not given her permission for him to appear
on TV.
-
- He alleged: "I suppose Jackson was trying to clean
up his image and put a young boy in front of the camera to say everything
is OK, he doesn't sleep with me and there's nothing untoward happening
in bed.
-
- "Jackson gave him some inducements about things
that might happen if he did a good job - like he might have a movie career."
-
- Jackson allegedly molested the boy after he appeared
on camera with him, Dickerman told US TV show Primetime.
-
- It was said to have started with Jackson showing him
pictures of naked women before cuddling the boy.
-
- The child allegedly told no one and had no contact with
Jackson for the next five months until the Bashir programme was to go out.
-
- Fearing things might look bad on TV, Jackson took the
family to Neverland. According to Dickerman's correspondence, Jackson's
people were "in possession of family property" and "holding
their passports".
-
- Jackson's staff had allegedly arranged for them to be
sent away from America, so they would not be in the country to testify
in the event of a criminal trial.
-
- Alcohol was detected during the boy's cancer treatment,
but yesterday Jermaine Jackson denied allegations that his brother had
given Jesus Juice to kids in Coke cans. "To say he supplied wine to
children is ludicrous," he said.
-
- Jackson, 45, denies seven charges of molesting the boy,
who is now 14, and two of giving a child alcohol.
