- In a story on our front page this morning from Russia
you'll read how the Russian oil giant LUKOIL is purchasing almost 900 new
gas stations in the United States to go with the over 2,000 they already
own here. Now what I venture to guess is that you were not aware of this
purchase, let alone how many gas stations are owned by Russia in the US.
-
- During the 1970's billions of dollars were also invested
in the Alaskan oil pipeline, but how many of you know that the oil coming
through that pipeline is destined for Japan and other markets in Asia,
not the US market?
-
- My reason for talking about this is simply to make you
more aware of how oil is, and has been, being used on a global scale to
benefit, make rich and in some cases undermine whole national economies.
The reasons for this being so is to simply allow a select few countries
in the world to benefit from oil wealth. And the economics are staggering!
A barrel of crude going on the market for $30.00 a barrel will have a
consumer price around $110.00 once it is refined. The refining costs average
around 15%, which includes transportation, bringing a profit per barrel
of crude into the obscene range to say the least.
-
- But most importantly is to not stop there but to 'dig
deeper' to then see what those same oil profits are being spent on. But
don't be surprised if you never actually see what these oil profits are
buying because it's all going, literally, underground!
-
- In Russia's case their oil profits are going into the
building of a massive underground city at Yamantau Mountain and its associated
support city of Mezhgorye (formerly the settlements of Beloretsk-15 and
Beloretsk-16). An April 16, 1996 New York Times article stated:
-
- "In a secret project reminiscent of the chilliest
days of the Cold War, Russia is building a mammoth underground military
complex in the Ural Mountains, Western officials and Russian witnesses
say.
-
- "Hidden inside Yamantau Mountain in the Beloretsk
area of the southern Urals, the project involved the creation of a huge
complex, served by a railroad, a highway, and thousands of workers."
-
- As I outline in my book, "Code Red: The Coming Destruction
of The United States, 2004", the United States isn't alone in the
continuing building and stocking of massive underground complexes. I further
detail that a strong case can be made that the US invasion of Iraq was
to seize their underground cities and bases as Iraq, after the US and Russia,
has the worlds third largest amount of underground facilities. (It's important
to note too that Iraq, Turkey, and Iran have the largest amount of ancient
underground cities discovered. Some of these ancient underground cities
can hold upwards of 20,000 people!)
-
- Most importantly for us 'average' Americans to realize
though is that for whatever reason(s) these underground cities are being
built we can bet we aren't going to be invited into them when disaster
strikes. But most galling of all is that we not only have to pay to build
ours, we've also been paying for Russia to build theirs, every time we
fill up our gas tanks...
