- While people were visiting this site, looking at the
photos of the farmer who drove off a cliff to save himself from carjackers,
I happened upon a forum where an ex-Policeman from South Africa had this
interesting story to tell. A friend of mine also told me of a story of
a white guy who tried to do a similar thing. Apparently, he was also hijacked,
and he drove his car at high speed into one of the pillars where a road
crossed the highway. He tried to hit it on the side where the hijackers
were. But apparently everyone was killed. This story from the ex-Policeman

- When I was a policeman serving in SA I was at the scene
of an accident one night in which a woman (white, 24 yrs old, pregnant)
was hijacked by 3 black guys. Usually they drive the women to where ever
they can find a spot to rape them and then usually kill them. They ordered
her to drive and she decided that she wasn't going to be raped and killed
that day, she had her safety belt on and decided to drive off a bridge.
She broke her back and lost her baby but killed all 3 guys in the car.
I spoke to her a 1 year later, she could walk again and she told me that
she's never regretted what she'd done for a second.

- All I can say is be very careful to comment on something
like this if you haven't grown up or know what it's like to live in SA,
a 2 week holiday and a few skewed news reports can never give you the full
picture.
