- FALLUJAH, Iraq -- Four people,
including a two-year-old child, were killed and eight wounded in fighting
Friday between US troops and insurgents in this restive town west of Baghdad,
hospital officials said.

- "Four people have been killed. They are all males
and include a two-year-old child, and seven people, also males, were wounded,"
Doctor Ahmed Shaker Kadduri said.

- Hospital director Hatem Samir earlier reported four deaths
without giving details and said two people were hurt in the fighting that
erupted at mid-morning and spread to the early afternoon.

- An Iraqi cameraman reportedly working for American network
ABC was severely wounded, a doctor said.

- "ABC News cameraman Burhan Mohammed al-Luhaybi was
severely wounded in the head in the clashes," said Omar al-Ani, a
doctor at the Fallujah hospital.

- "He is in very serious condition," he said.

- ABC News in Baghdad would not confirm the incident or
whether Luhaybi worked for the American network.

- Iraqi reporters said that Luhaybi was a freelance cameraman
for ABC News in Fallujah.

- Gunshots and explosions rocked the town where masked
insurgents, armed with mortars, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and
assault rifles, were seen in the streets, an AFP correspondent on the scene
said.

- The shooting occurred at the eastern entrance to the
town which, remained blocked by advancing US troops, he added.

- There was no immediate confirmation from the US military.

- On Thursday, a US Marine was killed and two wounded when
their convoy was attacked by bombs and gunfire east of Fallujah.

- Fallujah is about 50 kilometres (30 miles) from the Iraqi
capital and lies in the so-called Sunni Triangle where US forces regularly
come under fire.
