Gibson Vs. Bushby?
They Can't Both Be Right!

I refer to the numerous articles written about Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" and the enormous amount of publicity that this has been given.

I saw the movie a few days ago and found it violent beyond my imagination. It is amazing that it has aroused such strong emotions from horror to anti-Semitic and everything in between.

What everyone seems to be missing is that, under Roman Law, "the penalty of crucifixion was reserved for rebels, mutinous slaves and other enemies of Roman society and those guilty were simply left hanging naked and rotting, a public and prolonged agony that was a deliberate deterrent to other would-be rebels". During this same period, the Jewish punishment for major crimes was death by stoning.

As publisher of The Bible Fraud and The Secret in the Bible by Tony Bushby and The Masters of the Mystical Rose by Maree Moore, I offer quite a different story from that which has been perpetrated for the last 2000 years. Jesus actually had a twin brother named Judas Khrestus who was a zealot and who was the actual person to be crucified.

I quote directly from page 86 in The Bible Fraud ..

"Judas Khrestus was tried on a charge of treason against the Romans, found guilty of revolutionary activity and sentenced to die by crucifixion As a Roman citizen of noble heritage, Judas Khrestus then 'appealed to the Emperor', Caligula, as was his right, but to no avail. The death penalty stood. This was the year 37. Being aware of his royal blood, Judas Khrestus then exercised an age-old tradition that came with his birthright. This advantage allowed him to order the placement of a 'substitute' to take his allocated punishment.. He played the substitution card at the expense of his 'birthright' which now passed to the second born, his twin brother, Rabbi Jesus."

"Judas Khrestus was then 'flogged' (John 19:1) and subsequently invested with the honours of a 'purple' toga (Mark 15:17), the distinctive mark of royalty. A crown called the Corona Triumphalis, among the Romans the highest distinction awarded for service in war, was placed on his head. Tradition recorded that this crown was always made from grass growing at the scene of the battle. With the official Roman formalities now completed, Judas Khrestus was then led away.

"Hence, he did not suffer the crucifixion. Rather, a certain Simon of Cyrene was forced to bear his cross for him, and it was he who was ignorantly and erroneously crucified According to the Gospels, Simon of Cyrene experienced crucifixion for just part of one afternoon, a few hours. He subsequently escaped its full horrors after Joseph of Arimathea negotiated a financial settlement with Pontius Pilate for his release from crucifixion.. Joseph of Arimathea went to the crucifixion scene and removed Simon to an adjacent tomb.." And so the story unfolds.

Has anybody picked up the significance in the film of Peter's denial three times of knowing Jesus?

Perhaps Mel should be questioning his Catholic Church hierarchy to come clean with ancient documents hidden in Vatican vaults so that we may all know the truth.
