- BAGHDAD (Reuters) - One airman
was killed and two wounded in a mortar attack on a U.S. airbase north of
Baghdad on Saturday, the U.S. army said in a statement.
- The statement said one of the wounded was in a serious
condition following the attack on Balad airbase. The other injured man
was treated and released from hospital.

- The death brings to at least 456 the number of U.S. troops
killed in action since the start of the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
