Bounties On Iraqi
Governing Members

TEHRAN (MNA) - A new group calling itself the Iraqi Liberation Organization has placed bounties on the heads of Shia and Kurdish members of the Iraqi Governing Council.

The group, which is composed of former members of the Iraqi Baath Party, has offered bounties for the assassination of Iraqi National Congress (INC) leader Ahmed Chalabi, Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) leader Jalal Talebani, Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leader Massoud Barzani, Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) leader Sayyed Abel Aziz al-Hakim, Iraqi National Accord leader Iyad Allawi, and Ayatollah Mohammed Bahr al-Ulloum.

It has placed a five-million-dollar bounty on the head of each of these Iraqi Governing Council members.

In a report released on its website the organization has said it would also arrange for the flight of anyone who assassinates one of these Iraqi interim administration members.

The organization has also offered one to two million dollars for the capture or assassination of any Iraqi minister.

The Iraqi Liberation Organization has called Iraqi Governing Council members U.S. mercenaries.

There is still no precise information on this previously unknown organization, which claims to have a military wing, but it seems to consist of former Baath Party members who are trying to create an atmosphere of terror by assassinating Kurdish and Shia leaders as a new transitional council is preparing to take over in Iraq.

All of the Iraqis whose names have been placed on the death list are either Shias or Kurds.
