- It should be noted that in many of these cylinder-like
UFO shots, there are times when two highly reflective points on the object
appear dominant.. - Neff

- To Brian Vike,
-
- Re: http://www.rense.com/general53/cyl.htm , the Mark
Olson Cylinder.
-
- I saw the above article on Rense.com, and it looked similar
to a photo 'DVC00010.jpg' I had taken a while back and had reviewed recently.
-
- Last month I was reviewing some old archived digital
photos I had taken. I recalled seeing something similar from May 8, 2002
taken at about 4:42 pm pdt. It showed a similar object to that in Mark
Olson's photo. I would not be so hasty as to call mine a cylinder, though.
-
- The camera I used was one of those dual purpose digital
video and digital still camera made by JVC, a model GR-DVM90U. Its maximum
resolution was 1024 x 768, which is the setting that was used. The camera's
CCD was by all measures very rough and crude, but still it made a decent
picture most of the time.
-
- What I was taking a picture of was the odd looking cloud
striations, or lines, in the clouded sky. Some say they are HAARP waves.
The bright thing near the photo's center was not detected by me at the
time. There are some darker small sphere shapes also near the brown truck
in the lower right, and in other places in the photo. They do not much
look like birds, as birds seldom show as spheres.
-
- This photo is just as it came off the camera with no
editing done at all. I was in my car driving north on Interstate Highway
I-5 going home after work.
-
- I'd be interested to hear any follow-up you may have
regarding this type of ufo, or whatever-it-is. I may have some other examples
as well, and will attempt to find them soon.

- Additional Information
-
- Brian,
-
- I know pretty much exactly where I was. It was taken
on the I-5 northbound exit ramp to Going Street, exiting to Swan Island
and Interstate Avenue, and the nose of the car was pointed slightly to
the Northeast, due to rounding the curve of the exit ramp. There are two
lanes on that ramp, and I was in the leftmost lane, the brown truck was
in the right, and it was slightly ahead of me.
-
- The lamp post lights orientation and green tree branch
foliage just in front of the brown truck confirm the above, as well as
giving landmarks to where I was on the curved exit ramp. I have taken that
exit ramp literally thousands of times, the two lamp posts pictured are
quite unique in their orientation.
-
- If needed, the photograph's origin point could be pinpointed
to within a few feet. The camera's zoom factor could be gotten also, but
my guess is the camera lens was at its wide lens setting. It has a 10x
zooming factor for telephoto shooting.
-
- Cheers,
-
- Thank you to the person for the great report and the
photo.
