U.S. Marines were killed in action on Wednesday in the volatile al-Anbar
province west of Baghdad, the American military said on Thursday.

- It gave no further information on the circumstances of
their deaths. Al-Anbar includes the flashpoint cities of Falluja and Ramadi.

- Since the invasion last March, at least 584 U.S. troops
have been killed in action in Iraq.
