- Israel has hundreds of intelligence agents in the Kurdish
areas of Northern Iraq believed to be involved in the collection of information
and monitoring of events in Iraq, Iran and Syria.

in stabilising Iraq after the transfer of sovereignty on June 30, and the
elections scheduled for January 2005.

operatives investigating Iran's nuclear capabilities.

respected investigative journalist Seymour Hersh who has authored a report
for The New Yorker magazine.

- According to the veteran reporter Israel has been active
in recent months renewing previously long-standing associations with Iraq's
Kurdish community.
