Corrections To The Republican Platform 2004

From Jim Mortellaro

Here are the corrections to the Republican Party Platform as presented on Rense.Com. Apparently these were written by the DNC. ANd whilst we are at it, just what is the DNC platform as defined by their candidate?

1. Jesus loves you and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary Clinton.

1A. God loves you and shares your angst at our catering to immorality and eliminating God from our vocabulary as Politically
Incorrect.

2. The United States should get out of the United Nations and our highest national priority is to enforce UN resolutions against Iraq.

2A. The United States should address the corrupt nature of the UN
and their efforts at a New World Order. Our Highest priority is to
protect our Homeland against terrorism.

3. "Standing tall for America" means firing your workers and moving their jobs to India.

3A. Standing Tall for America means closing American Borders and
preventing illegal immigration from destroying our culture (what's left
of it) and our economy. Not to mention our own saftey. As to the loss
of jobs here in the USA, that appears to be a choice made by Big
Business rather than our own government.

4. A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body but the government has no place interfering with the right of multinational corporations to make decisions affecting all mankind.

4A. Some women cannot be trusted with decisions about the children they carry in their wombs. Which has nothing to do with the
right of multinational corporations to make decisions affecting mankind.

5. Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a conservative radio host, in which case it's an illness.

5A. Being a drug addict is a failing of human nature and likely a
reaction against our society's marked propensity toward making
it too easy to obtain them. Being "addicted" is different from being
"DEPENDENT" on drugs. Which can easily happen when medications such are too readily prescribed.

6. The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

6A. The best way to improve military moral is to support them rather
than reject their efforts as 'wrong.' Slashing veterans' benefits has not
occured. The word "slashing" is a gross exaggeration.

7. Group sex and drug use are degenerate sins unless you someday run for Governor of California as a Republican.

7A. Group sex is a degenerate action unless you are a former President. Drug use has already been covered above.

8. If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

8A If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents will have a more
difficult time having safe sex. And control of our childrens' Morality is
NOT a function of the degenerating school system. It is the responsibility of the parents. Too bad there are too many of the former and too few of the latter.

9. A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our longtime allies, then demand their cooperation and money.

10A. A good way to fight terrorism is to fight it on our own when our
former allies, the ones we "saved" from the NAZI and the Soviets
decide to realize their international responsibilities in lieu of berying their heads on the sand.

10. HMO's and insurance companies have the interest of the public at heart and require protection against lawsuits from greedy policyholders.

11A. 'Smatter, can't you count? HMO's are getting out of hand. Legislation is reauired by affected states, to reign in the HMO.
Anyone supporting Tort Reform hasn't had an opportunity to be injured or medically harmed by improper care. Consider yourelves
lucky and pray it remains that way.

12A. Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy while providing health care to all Americans represents socialism.

13. The writer has not had the opportunity to study the effects of government (socialized) medicine in countries where they've been tried. Consider yourselves lucky to have the HMO. At least we get the medical care we need.

14A. Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science but creationism should be taught in schools.

14A. Anyone believing that this is a RNC philosophy is on drugs. Consider hypnosis.
15. It is okay that the Bush family has done millions of dollars of business with the Bin Laden family.

15A. It is OK that the Bush family once did business with the BinLaden family. Just as many had. As the Bin Laden's have done business with many firms in the USA. Just as it is OK for Cheney to have ONCE worked for a large consulting firm now doing business in the Mid East.

14. Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find bin Laden" diversion.

16A. Saddam was never a good guy. He, like many government 'leaders' were merely pawns in our game. It's the way of it. If you can't deal with that, live in a cave stocked with health food and avoid too much sun.

15. A president lying about an extramarital affair is an impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is deeply patriotic and questioning it makes you an ally of terrorists.
17A. A president lying to Congress and the courts is an impeachable offense. A president who is as immoral as 'he' was is an unconscionable offense against everything we stand for. Make that everything we 'stood' for.
16. Government should limit itself to the powers named in the Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and censoring the Internet.

17A. Government should abide by the COnstitution or ask the nation to change it in an amendment. Government has no right to ban anything. And government is just as legally required to follow the Constitution as anyone else.

17. The public has a right to know about Hillary's cattle trades but George Bush's Harken Oil stock trade are none of our business.
18A. The country has a right to know about both.
18. You support states' rights, which means Attorney General Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they have a right to adopt.

19A. No. Ashcroft has the duty to follow the COnstitution. If he does not, he is breaking the law. Besides which ... he can tell the states anything he chooses. Legally, states do not have to follow his initiatives.

19. What Bill Clinton did in the 1960's is of vital national interest, but what Bush did in the '80's is irrelevant.

20A. What Clinton did at any time is of no consequence as he's lost the respect of this writer and if we are all honest, the respect of everyone.

20. Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

21A. On this issue I may take no umbrance. Although again, the government is not the issue. Call big business. China's minimum wage is rather steeply reduced from ours. In fact, they don't have one do they?

21. Affirmative action is wrong but it is OK for daddy and his friends to get GWB into Yale, the Texas Air National Guard, Harvard Business School, the Governorship of Texas and then have the Supreme Court appoint him President of the USA.

22A. Monkey juice. Bush earned his degrees and the presidency was won by law, not by the supreme court.
