- An explosion wounded four American soldiers outside Kandahar
on Friday [23 July]. Our correspondent quoted Kandahar's head of security
as saying that the bomb placed in a taxi in the Durahi [untraced] area
outside Kandahar city was set off by remote control, when a US [military]
convoy was passing through the area.

- Kandahar security chief Mohammad Salim Ehsas said that
four American soldiers were wounded in the incident. But, eyewitnesses
say that two Americans were killed in addition to the four wounded.
