- To make it even MORE insulting, I got an email from a
woman on the Esophageal Cancer list, who was asking about benefits since
her husband is DYING from EC, and she was told that she had to making less
than $850 a month and wait 2 months before she could APPLY for federal
assistance (SSD) then it would be SIX MONTHS before she might get a penny!
This, for a husband and wife who have PAID into the 'system' all their
lives....but immigrants get ALL the free benefits IMMEDIATELY?
