- Brian,
-
- Thanks for the reply. Sounds good. I think this one is probably
explainable because of the military bases near by but we'll see what
you can find out.
-
- The details are simple.

- Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

- Date: Aug 5th, 2004 around 8:30 PM Camera: Digital Canon
Powershot A70 set to size 1600x1200 set on full auto.

- We were driving in to town, heading south along Highway
118 (in Dartmouth still) just were it turns into Woodlands drive when I
noticed them from the back left passenger seat. I rolled down the window
and took a few pictures as best I could when the car was slow or stopped.
That would put them approximately out over the Halifax Harbour
between Dartmouth and Halifax. They seemed to be stationary or
if they were moving they must have been very slow (or at high
altitude). The reason I though they were bizarre is that if they
were at altitude, I expect to see at least a short vapour trail. If they were
low, I would have been able to see detail and they would have appeared
to be moving faster with respect to my position. If they were moving,
I would say it was in a northerly direction, with one object slightly to
the east and behind (south) the other one.
-
- Anyway, they really don't look much different in the
photo than in reality even though the photos aren't great. I was hoping
to get some detail later when I loaded the photos onto the computer and
zoomed in but the quality isn't good enough. They just look like spots.
some of the photos have the tops of buildings in them that give an idea
of how fast we were going. One catches a power line which shows that I
was nearly stationary but there are still few details. One is really out
of focus but I snapped a bunch to see what I could get. The sky seems
pretty light in the photos for 8:30 now that I look at them but I think
I'm right because we were supposed to be in by 8:00 and we were ~1/2 an
hour late.
-
- Let me know if you find anything out. Have fun.
-
- Regards
-
- Thank you to the witness for the report and photos.
