- (JUS) - An American convey came under a massive attack
by Iraqi resistance fighters in Abu Ghraib at approximately 12:30 Baghdad
time yesterday. Sources at the scene reported that the resistance planted
several powerful explosive devises one after the other on the road to Abu
Ghraib after receiving intelligence reports that an American convoy would
be traveling there.

- The convoy consisted of one personnel carrier and six
jeeps. The personnel carrier, which was not fully loaded with soldiers,
and 4 jeeps were completely destroyed. The correspondence for Islam memo
was able to verify the American casualties through a reliable source inside
the Abu Gharib police station. There has been no official reports on the
incident issued yet by the US military or western reporters who are confined
to designated areas.

- Following the attack, the Americans sealed-off the city
centre of Abu Gharib, located west of Baghdad, at approximately 4 pm yesterday
afternoon. According to sources at the scene, more than 30 armored Bradley
vehicles and Abrams tanks formed a blockade and several American fighter
jets were seen flying overhead in the area skies in large numbers at the
time of this filing.
