Deputy Prime Minister Chatturon Chaisaeng has admitted that Thailand is
in the middle of its second series of bird flu outbreaks.

- Speaking at a press conference in Bangkok on Monday,
Deputy PM Chaisaeng said the Thai Government regarded it as a great risk
to the country.

- He said that in the first nine months of this year, Thailand's
poultry exports recorded a year-on-year decrease of 60 percent.

- However, human security is the top priority of the Thai
Government, the deputy PM said, adding that bird flu prevention was listed
in Thailand's national programme and short-term and long-term bird flu
prevention plans will be submitted to the Government on Tuesday.
