2001 'Will Put The Fear Of God
In Us' Says Canadian Psychic

Look up, way up. Toronto psychic Anthony Carr feels it, senses it coming.

It is an imminent ``cataclysmic cosmic event,'' advises Carr, who has been making a living telling people about his premonitions for 35 years.

``Watch for a sign in the heavens. It will shock the whole world. It could be like a bolt of lightning or in the form of a UFO - a mighty astronaut.''

The event ``will put the fear of God into us,'' predicts the east-end psychic and palmist who counts Hollywood stars among his clients.

``What I feel for the world is a great revelation, as if the entire population is coming to its collective senses. It's as though we realize we have to do something before it's too late.''

That something, he continues, means we should ``re-green the planet, unpollute the waters, feed the starving.''

The revelation will herald a return to old-fashioned values in which more people marry and stay together, Carr predicts.

``The `me' syndrome will be gone. We'll help each other and band together for protection and for the sake of survival of the human race.''

Carr claims his share of success with his visions and premonitions. He predicted the death of Princess Diana, accusations of corruption and racketeering against former prime minister Brian Mulroney and also Bloc Qu*b*cois leader Lucien Bouchard's battle with flesh-eating disease.

In his own words: ``Anthony Carr is so chillingly accurate that he has been hailed by reputable media persons as a modern-day Nostradamus.''

The clairvoyant, who calls himself ``the world's most documented psychic,'' has been in newspapers, tabloids and on radio and television programs.

``I go through all the newspapers, listen to the radio, watch movies. If a certain thing catches me, twigs me, I go with it.''

He foresees events and experiences through a feeling, a vision or telepathy in which he picks up something from an individual ``on the other side of the room or the other side of the world.''

He picked up vibes from Scotland where Madonna married British filmmaker Guy Ritchie in an extravagant wedding on Dec. 22.

``This marriage is doomed,'' says Carr, who previously predicted motherhood (two children) for the superstar singer. ``They're a Virgo and a Leo - forget it. I give them a couple of years. He'll want to rule the roost and she won't let him.''

A few years ago, after coming out of a movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carr saw a large, cut-out figure of the actor in the lobby. Arnie's arm was reaching up with his hand spread out and Carr was able to read his palm.

``All of a sudden,'' he recalls, ``I got a sharp feeling in my chest, just like a wave came through me. I thought: `This guy's gonna have a serious heart attack.' ''

When he warned Schwarzenegger, Carr says, the actor was stunned.

``He had a huge hole in his aortic valve - a congenital heart defect - and no one knew he had it but him.''

Schwarzenegger subsequently underwent elective surgery in 1997 to repair the valve.

Carr includes Canadian movie megastar Jim Carrey on his list of predictions for 2001, saying the rubber-faced comic will make ``lavish contributions'' to homeless shelters and the poor in Toronto.

``He was a Cabbagetown kid,'' Carr notes. ``He doesn't forget where he came from.''

Carrey is ``eternally paranoid'' about losing his fame and fortune, Carr says, and the Hollywood star feels compelled to share his wealth, lest he become ``overwhelmed by guilt over his success.''

So much for the good news. Carr is also picking up bad vibes from the heavens. He predicts a ``great economic crash'' early in the year, as the euro becomes worthless and the Canadian dollar slips downward.

His advice is to stay calm and play it safe. ``Don't spend any money, don't invest - keep it in the bank. Don't panic.''

If you have stocks, he adds, don't start selling. ``Not only does haste make waste but greed makes waste.''

His advice on life and love? ``Let your instincts be your guide. They will always tell you the way to go.''
