- The Netherlands has discovered its first case of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease,
the human variant of "mad cow disease", the government said on

- The interior ministry said in a statement a patient at
a hospital in the central town of Utrecht had been diagnosed with the disease
and said it had informed European authorities.
