- The so-called Piano Man has had an upright piano installed
in his room at the secure mental health unit where he is being held, the
NHS Trust caring for him said last night.
-
- Doctors are considering using music and art therapy to
try to communicate with the mystery man who has not spoken since he was
found wandering aimlessly near the beach in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey,
Kent.
-
- Although more than 1,000 people from all over the world
have contacted a special helpline and several leads to his identity are
being investigated, West Kent NHS Trust said yesterday it may still be
"some time" before they know who the mystery man is.
-
- A spokesman said: "We can now confirm that Mr X
has a piano in his room and his clinical team are starting to explore both
music and art therapies."
-
- Asked if he had been playing it, he said: "I'm not
aware of it at the moment."
-
- The Piano Man was picked up by police in the early hours
of April 7 wearing a dripping wet suit and tie and stunned carers with
a four-hour virtuoso piano performance.
-
- The Trust has said he is in good physical health but
his psychological condition is unlikely to change dramatically in the near
future.
