- The Japanese begin counting years anew with a new
emperor. The rumours in Tel Aviv claim Sharon is already dead, while others give
him a few hours of life; there is a feeling of end of an era,
the Sharon era. He did not depart in peace. A day before a scheduled
operation on his heart, Israeli media broadcast a 'revelation' that Sharon
took three million dollar bribe. This news item based on unidentified police
sources was broadcast incessantly for hours, in every programme. Demands
for him to retire were orchestrated as only consolidated media can do.
Probably this leak made the trick, and he was retired for good.

- Sharon's story is a story of omnipotence of the Jewish
media. For years, they covered up the grisly massacre of Kibie and sanitised
the Sabra and Shatila.

- A few years ago some idealistic souls believed Sharon,
a Jewish Otto Skorzeny, is on his way to the Hague, to the tribunal. They
were mistaken: he was on his way to Oslo for the Nobel Peace Prize, and
would surely get it from the obedient Norwegians but for the stroke. Now
he departs this world ready to be packaged as a saint. Everybody knows
that Sharon gave to Palestinians the settlements of Gaza; very few people
know he took it back by establishing fire-free zone in the north of Gaza.
The right hand of Sharon gave, in public, in live broadcast; his left hand
took it back in private, and the mainstream media covered it up.

- Many good people intensely disliked Sharon. Uri Avnery
and other peace-loving folk concentrated on Sharon for years. But he was
nor worse neither better than other leading Israeli politicians. True,
he was a killer, but he shared this distinction with Ehud Barak and Yitzhak
Shamir, Menahem Begin and David Ben-Gurion. Whoever will take his place,
Netanyahu or Olmert, won't be better, and I doubt they will be worse. Until
the whole setup of Jewish supremacy is undermined, not only in Palestine,
but in the US and France, Britain and Italy, we can't expect a radical
change.
