- BALTIMORE, MARYLAND - Many
Maryland hospital emergency rooms are filled beyond capacity. Maryland
Emergency Medical Service officials are asking people not to use the emergency
room or call 911 unless they have a true emergency. That way, they say
people with immediate trauma can be treated first. Many hospitals in the
state of Maryland are on yellow alert, meaning their emergency rooms are
so full that ambulances are having to take patients to other hospitals.
