Re-analysis Of "Notched
UFO" Effect In Some Images

 It started with the Derbyshire
UFO photographs. Captured on videotape October 5th, 2001 in the UK, a striking
saucer shape from a powerfully self-illuminated flying object hit the UFO
News and even some UK papers. It wasn't but shortly after that when scores
of similar UFOs began to pop-up on video and digital camera shots the world
over. There was an immediate comparison to the (still) remarkable STS-75
UFO footage (also referred to as the "smoking gun" evidence from
NASA's blocked transmissions as expertly catalogued in the video The Secret NASA Transmissions: The Smoking Gun). This comparison prompted many to jump to the
defense of the Derbyshire UFO image, as well as the images below taken
in Israel. Ourselves included.

 Unfortunately, there
appears to be a repeatable anomaly in video and digital cameras (even some
35 mm cameras) which cause a reflection of the lens aperatus and zoom bracket
of the camera to highly distort both reflective particles in a flash shot
(ie, orbs) as well
as distant, bright lights when the zoom and focus are taken beyond its
true reach. The resulting image produces this "notched" saucer
shape, usually with concentric rings or a center plug knocked out of the
center (where the focal point inverts upon itself). At left is a typical,
classic "orb" photo, though produced by overzoom and beyond focal
range on a camcorder shooting a distant, bright light.

 A 'reflective' orb appears
less instense and rightly lit, usually, as seen at right. It is commonly
produed by dust or water vapor or other particulates close to the camera,
outside of the focal field and often super illuminated by a flash and many
are captured indoors.
We ardently defended the original viewpoint that the Derbyshire and Israeli
photos were not an effect of lens/zoom/focus, or that the zoom bracket
in the cameras effected the image to produce the "notch". But
time and experimentation have both proven us wrong.

- We do not feel this refelects at all
upon the STS-75 footage as in that case one is dealing with multiple objects,
in motion, at varied depths of field -- which is considerably different
from the notched-orb effect we're dealing with here. As objects move (or
the cameras focal or zoom change) the notch effect will likewise change,
as revealed in the changing Israeli UFO image (see images in article below),
and that is not seen in the STS footage - Webmaster

 In 1998, I was
visited by a lawyer from Israel. He had contacted me earlier by email informing
me that he was coming to Toronto, Canada, to meet with clients. He was
familiar with my website, www.ufodigest.com, and stated that he would like
to visit me in my Hamilton office. Hamilton is approximately 45 miles South
of Toronto.

- The first view is somewhat similar to
what has been described as a Roswell type aircraft. It seems to have a
delta wing shape.

- This view appears to show a craft after
banking exposing the famous round saucer shape.
- Then suddenly the shape changes again
to illustrate a very alien shape. Either this is the Aurora project or
an alien craft.

- He told me when he had a free day the
day and we set a time to meet. He was a pleasant fellow, approximately
35 years old and stood about 5' 8". He was well dressed and not the
typical witness or individual I expected. I knew he wanted to discuss a
sighting he had had of an unidentified flying object.

 He said
that he does not seek fame and in fact wishes to remain anonymous. He has
kept the four plus minute tape for the past decade and only recently has
decided to share it with the world. For the sake of this article we will
call him, Mr. Tamir. He opened his briefcase and took out a small box containing
a videotape. He asked me if I had access to a PAL video player. I said
that I didn't but we could convert the video in a few minutes. We took
off in my car and had two copies made in NTSC (National Television System
Committee) mode, which is suitable for North American VCRs.

- Before inserting the video Tamir told
me his story:

- He was enjoying a quiet evening at home
in Tel Aviv, when he received a telephone call from a friend in a nearby
city. The friend stated that she was watching an unidentified flying object
in the sky and it appeared to be in the vicinity of his residence. The
friend remembered that the young lawyer had a video camera and also was
well positioned to view the UFO from his apartment balcony. The year was
1988 and what the lawyer videotaped from his apartment has remained with
him to this day.

 The craft
was a bright object in the sky and it was being illuminated by the moon.
It was brilliant and as it came into view it turned and performed a yaw
axis. The yaw axis movement is perpendicular to the wings and lies in the
plane of the aircraft centerline. A yaw motion is a side to side movement
of the nose of the aircraft. When I was younger I learned to fly a Piper
Cherokee and eventually soloed and passed the written examine. Although,
I am not an aviation expert I do some have some knowledge of flying.

- At first glance the object looks very
modern and seems to be delta-shaped. Then as it continued to roll it transformed
into a circular object and then as the camera zooms closer the outer perimeter
becomes clearer and notches appear near the top and bottom.

- What makes the Israel video so important
is the fact that this craft has been reported, photographed and videotaped
by credible people stretching from Israel to England and even in the Earth's
atmosphere.

- It's been over six years since Martin
Stubbs released his DVD entitled The Secret NASA Transmission: 'The Smoking
Gun'. The DVD contains video footage taken directly from NASA Space Shuttle
broadcasts and seems to show unidentified flying objects. The footage came
from the NASA cable channel, which automatically videotapes during the
"off hours", when the astronauts are resting and the video cameras
mounted on the space shuttle are pointing into open space or towards Earth

- Occasionally the cameras capture images
of objects moving through space, or through the Earth's upper atmosphere.
Some of these images are of objects with amazing speed and maneuverability.

- Release of the DVD created a storm of
criticism from NASA and has been debunked by scientists. Objects pictured
in the video were stated as being dust or ice particles.

- Famous photo of craft taken by cameras
aboardDuring the 1996 space shuttle mission: STS-75, whose objective was
to carry the Tethered Satellite System Reflight (TSR) into orbit, many
photographs were taken as well as hours of video. The craft videotaped
by the lawyer looks amazingly similar to those captured by the cameras
on the STS-75 mission. The NASA footage in the public domain allegedly
shows anomalous, intelligently controlled craft filmed above the Earth.
The crafts are moving around the enormous tether of the TSR system.

- A 44-year-old Bonsall woman, who also
wishes to remain anonymous, saw what appeared to be an UFO hovering over
the Derbyshire village of Bonsall in the British Isles. Now known as "The
Derbyshire/Bonsall UFO" video it was shot on October 5th, 2001.

- So is this the "Smoking Gun"
of UFOs? It is now obvious that there is a connection between all the sightings
stated in this article. We have photographic proof of a similar if not
identical object. This object has been videotaped on earth as well as above
it. It has been sighted since the 1980s and is either an experimental aircraft
or proof of extraterrestrial visitation.

- Initially, I believed the craft was a
U.S. military experimental aircraft, a new generation of the Aurora project.
The Aurora was a mystery plane that was developed with an air-breathing
propulsion system capable of achieving speeds up to Mach 6, 7 or higher.
It can also fly as high as 100,000 feet taking it close to the edge of
the earth's atmosphere. But this craft is delta-shaped and is similar to
the F-18 Hornet.

- Another possibility was the Switchblade,
officially called the Bird of Prey, an experimental aircraft that can act
as a bomber, fighter or high-speed plane. It accomplishes this by using
a unique swing-wing design. The wings are attached to its fuselage (body)
at a pivot point toward the back of the plane. When the wings are fully
extended, the plane can fly slowly to drop bombs precisely on their targets
or land on short runways. When the wings are swept farther forward, the
aircraft takes advantage of the maneuverability that forward-swept wings
offer, and becomes an agile fighter. When the wings are swept fully forward,
the trailing edge of the wing becomes the leading edge, and the aircraft
turns into a delta shape perfect for dashing away at speeds of Mach 3 or
higher. But, once again, we must discount this plane simply because of
its configuration. It is delta-shaped or resembles a traditional jet aircraft.

- None of the experimental aircraft rumored
to be in the planning stages or in-flight experiments have a round or circular
configuration.

- Is it ours or is it theirs? The answer
is still unknown. I guess we'll just have to wait for the smoke to clear!
