Dear Mrs. Kucinich,

I have read your letter as you requested.

You demonstrate qualifties we all wish to see in a great First Lady.

I wish you had specifically stated what statements of mine you deem to be "utter fiction." If your fine husband is not going to support pro-war Hillary Clinton if she wins the nomination then please say so specifically -- and I will certainly then be forced to revise my conclusion that he is placing of partisan politics over higher princuiple and my estimate of the effect of his candidacy on America's chances of electing a true anti-war candidate in 2008.

With admiration,

Dick Eastman

Subject: Kucinich Integrity

Please read what I have to say with reference to the e-mail that was circulated on January 19, 2007 about my husband, Dennis Kucinich, which was a message of utter fiction. I think you may be interested in what Dennis will have to say at the DNC gathering on Friday.

Dennis Kucinich is the Presidential candidate of utmost integrity, courage and sincerity. Everything that he stands for comes from his heart.

When Dennis and I got married, the main part of our wedding ceremony was where he and I recited the Prayer of St Francis to each other. In the union of our hearts and lives, this prayer of deep peace and service articulated the message and spirit of our joining and future work together. After we recited this beautiful prayer, it was repeated a second time in the form of song, to reiterate its message and our conviction.

Please be open to knowing my husband, his relentless striving for a culture of peace, justice and true government by, for and of the people. He led 125 Democrats to vote against going to war in Iraq, has a 100% voting record against funding the war and more recently has dedicated an extraordinary amount of his time to thoroughly researching and composing a comprehensive plan for peace and stability in Iraq put together after consultation with leading political, military, UN peace-keeping and security forces experts around the world: <http://kucinich.us/node/1976.

Dennis and I are running in this race to give the American people a true option of leadership with integrity and foresight, moral standing, diligence and consistency.

We are in this race to win and the war in Iraq is a very defining issue. Dennis' voting record speaks clearly for itself. This video lays things out the question of Iraq and the presidency in a way that I think you will appreciate. http://kucinich.us/node/2242/play

With reference to your e-mail, in your own quest for integtiy in political leaders, please only post messages that are based in truth. Further points of clarification posted by visitors to our site who have independently researched the claims made in your e-mail can be found at http://kucinich.us/node/2099

We wish you all the very best and invite you to join us on this powerful and essential journey of hope and integrity.

In peace, Elizabeth K.
