Heinz has been criticised by environmentalists after admitting lining its food cans with a chemical thought to mimic female hormones.

In animal experiments researchers have found that the chemical, bisphenol A, can cause early puberty in females and may reduce the growth of reproductive tissues in young males.

"This chemical is a known endocrine disruptor and is found in a range of other common domestic products besides Heinz's tins," said Dr Michael Warhurst who is leading a Friends of the Earth campaign to highlight the issue. "It is one of many chemicals to which we are constantly exposed and which are increasingly linked with various illnesses."

Heinz confirmed that it uses very small amounts of bisphenol A to line the lids of cans fitted with ring-pull openers, including baked bean cans. The chemical helps to prevent such tins from corroding or releasing tin into the food.

Bisphenol A and most other endocrine disrupting chemicals are known toxins at high levels. The argument is about whether or not they are dangerous in very low levels, when they are known as micropollutants.

Heinz says it accepts that tiny amounts of bisphenol A may leach into its foods, but says levels are far below what is needed to cause any biological effect. "The levels are in parts per million or parts per billion, so small as to be almost undetectable," said a spokesman.

Tin cans are just one of many potential sources of bisphenol A. The metal is also used in soft plastics, pesticides, dental products and some baby bottles.

A 1999 study by American researchers found that bisphenol A could mimic the sex hormone estradiol. Mice exposed before birth to the chemical, in amounts correlating with typical human exposures, suffered changes in postnatal growth and early puberty in females.

"Heinz Admits Lining Its Cans With Endocrine-Disrupting 'Sex Chemical'"

This is a headline at Rense.com. It bothered me a lot to read it. Made me a little angry. No, not at Heinz. At you. And AT me. And everyone living on the surface of this planet. For allowing others to do us in. With a little biphenol cacka poopoo here, a dollop of cyanic monodiglyceride with added additional nictinic framagoidial monongaheelac there, and whaddya got? Another day older and sick a lot!

I just love this article; it's so ... so telling. Of them and of us. It tells me how we allow ourselves to be not only duped, but willingly brought to our very own slaughter. And I love the commercials where the chemical companies tell us how lucky we are to have "Chemicals" in our lives. Of course what they don't tell us is how much a little of this and a little of that can do to a lot of us. That's a state secret. As well, is the "other" state secret of what really happened to our governments when they were threatened by the aliens, threatened with violence if we did not give them what they demanded from us. Whatever that might have been. They don't tell us about that.

How many times have you heard or read, "FINALLY, THE TRUTH REVEALED!" It should read, "FINALLY, THEIR TRUTH REVILED!" I like that much better. Much more fitting of what is happening.

Those of us who lived in the forties can relate better than subsequent generations, to what I am about to say. In every motion picture ever made from 1930 on, everyone in the movie smoked. Cigars, cigarettes, pipes. Everything. Now stay with me on this, OK? Doesn't make it right. But people were just not falling down like flies in a flit fog from lung cancer. Yes, lung cancer was around, but not like it is today. And almost EVERYONE smoked cigarettes back then.

People started getting sick well after 1945; after all that H-bomb testing in the water, in the atmosphere and elsewhere had time enough to affect us. People started getting sick with cancer, lung, colon, and now, they are dying from things which just did NOT kill people back then in the numbers they kill us these days.

The answer of course, is probably extremely complex. But it ain't just cigarettes. Maybe it's what the tobacco companies added to their products when they began to realize that greed, not discretion, was the better part of their valor. Get everyone hooked, add more of this, and more of that and BAM! You got addiction. Faster. Better and longer lasting addiction. More smokers. More money, honey.

A little of this and a little of that should be patented. Good stuff "that." And "this."

Face it folks, chemicals are not our friends. Governments are not our saviors or our protectors. Big business is not there to make us happy. At General Electric, progress, which was touted as being their most important product, wasn't. It was money. And to make more of that commodity, General Electric and every other money making machine, would do just about anything. Even at the sacrifice of your health and mine.

Cigarettes do not cause cancer by themselves. Not to the extent that smoking is killing people these days. Smoking is killing people because tobacco companies got greedy and spoiled the product with additives which made it genuinely hazardous to your health.

As for GE today ... GE (formerly General Electric) is one of the biggest money making, laundering, factoring and financial institutions on this forkina planet. That's right. General Electric. GE. They manage more money, more savings, investments and support more law suits with "structured" settlements than any other similar company.

Yes, at General Electric, progress is taking from you and giving to GE. Same with any other big business. And the sooner we realize this factoid of life, the better we can deal with them on their level. Wait, I take that back ... the better we can deal with them at OUR level.

Government and business lie. They lie like rugs. They make us sick and they make themselves rich beyond our ken. Well beyond. And if money ain't the issue, it's power. Or control. It's the way of it. And we, the peons who are lied to, we have the power to win back our health, our well being and most of all, our FREEDOM. We can gain back control of ourselves. That's the answer to every problem, disease and conundrum destabilizing and disrupting this society today. Instead of blaming tobacco companies, gun manufacturers and abuse of substances, we should be blaming ourselves for allowing control of our lives to be removed from us and placed in the hands of people who couldn't care less for us. We should be blaming ourselves for believing Madison Avenue and letting them lie to us. Worse, allowing them to allow us to believe the BS.

"Kent Cigarettes, an aid to the digestion."

"Chesterfield King. Made with AccuRay."

"Throat Hot, smoke KOOLS."

Snake oil. Lip balm. Soap Suds. Canned Peas. "Natural" herbal remedy for this. And for that.

No one I've ever voted for in government had an agenda even close to mine. It was always something other than my own welfare and the will of the people of the United States which drove the politician to win an election. And we let them get away with it. Maybe because we are otherwise occupied with staying alive and making a buck two-fifty so our kids can come home to a nicer and better decorated empty home. Empty. Empty of the loving nurturing of at least one parent.

We can get control and our freedom back ... by learning what has been done to us. People of the world must unite. We must learn and understand how to fight back. No one in this country in positions of power, not Senators, Congressmen, lawyers, legislators, presidents or even the "Secret Government" has our welfare in mind. Certainly not the secret government. They only have their own welfare in mind. And their own welfare is to maintain POWER and CONTROL over us at the sacrifice of anything. Even our health. Especially our health.

Whom do you perceive it was which performed tests on citizens during the atomic bomb testing in the early fifties? And whom do you REALLY believe has introduced disease into our society? La fortsa del destino? Yah, right. And the check is in the mail.

Bob Dylan wrote, "This world is ruled by violence..." I agree. But you know, it's easy to be non violent whilst you are violating your constituencies. You can use violence on your citizens by violating their freedoms, by leading them to believe they have your welfare in mind when in reality, it is only their own. Violence is what that is. Violence, notwithstanding.

Fight back. Learn. Trust no one except your fellow citizen and make sure he (or she) is what he represents himself to be. And take back control of yourself and your beloved family. Learn how you are being ill-used and cheated out of the joy of life. How you are being made ill by greed and how cruelty and lies have placed you in this most awful state of being. And if you think you are living the "good life," you are sicker than I thought.

All it takes to win back your freedom and to gain back control of your life and family - is knowledge. What's your excuse for not having knowledge? It's OK to be ignorant, but it's NOT OK to be culpably ignorant.

Ignorance or knowledge? Which do you choose?
