A janitor at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center is being accused of sexual harassment after allegedly putting bodily fluids into employees, drinks.

Linda Gehrmann, who does contract work at the facility in Greenbelt, Md., says she collapsed after receiving an office memo Friday afternoon informing staff about the incident. It says a janitor had not only left "sexually explicit notes" on some women's desks, but also had introduced "bodily fluids into their beverages."

"When I sipped my coffee about three times in the last two weeks...it tasted salty," Gehrmann said.

Officials at the flight center tell our news department that the janitor had confessed to the crime. The man, who has not been identified, is mentally handicapped and was placed at Goddard by Melwood...a locally based social service agency that finds housing and employment for people with developmental disabilities.

"This person has not been charged with anything and is, therefore, innocent until proven guilty," says Melwood community relations coordinator Kurt Salziger.

Salziger says he is upset by the allegations because it endangers Melwood's reputation.

"We've been around since 1963, and this is the first time anything of this nature has come up."

Salziger tells our news department that the janitor has been suspended, following medical tests and observation.

Melwood says the tests revealed no diseases or illnesses. Officials also say they conducted a background check on the man prior to sending him to Goddard. It reportedly revealed no previous crime.

Experts say HIV or other diseases cannot be contracted through spiked, coffee, soda or other drinks. There is a chance, however, that a person may catch other illnesses, such as Hepatitis. HIV only can be transmitted through bodily contact. It reportedly is not strong enough to live long outside of the body.
