- Pertaining to the Big Bear, CA 5.1 Magnitude Earthquake
of February 10, 2001...
-
- PREDICTIONS FOR FEBRUARY
-
- The Seismic Window of February 6-13, 2001 actually has
stronger astronomical forces that in January, although the 8.4, maximum
tides at the Golden Gate on February will be a full one-half foot lower
than those of January 10th.
-
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration classifies
these February conditions as 'perigean spring tides,' with the lunar distance
on February 8th not to be matched for almost two years.
-
- Also, the time separation between the full Moon and perigee
will be only nine hours, compared with 12 hours in January.
-
- Based upon these factors I predict, with 80% confidence,
one or more quakes in each area with the following parameters:
-
- 3.5 - 6.0M quake within 140 miles of Mt Diablo
-
- 3.5 - 6.0M quake within 140 miles of Los Angeles (Big
Bear is within Jim's 140 mile radius -ed)
-
- 3.0-6.0M quake in Washington and/or Oregon
-
- A Major (7+M) globally, most likely in the Pacific Ring
of Fire, where 80% of large quakes occur.
