- President George Bush, Senate majority leader Harry Reid,
House leader Nancy Pelosi, and the remainder of our U.S. Congress stumble
and bumble into the future without a clue or a concept of a decent U S
Strategic Plan and "National Strategic Energy Policy."
-
- That's why we suffer $4.16 a gallon for gas. That's
why diesel hit $4.69 last week! That's the reason for natural gas prices
shooting through the roof! That's why electricity and home-heating costs
grow like weeds in a junk yard!
-
- Fellow Americans winter lurks around the corner!
-
- Ever hear of the Peter Principle? Personified by U
S Congress and President!
-
- Lawrence Peter explained it in the 1960s whereby most
western people rise to their highest level of incompetence. Once they
arrive, they make everyone's life miserable because they cannot overcome
their inability to manage and perpetuate their position.
-
- George Bush, an addict, stands as one of THE most incompetent
presidents of all time. Senator Harry Reid couldn't lead his way out of
a paper bag! Pelosi acts like a bag lady as she sits with gavel in hand
but few forward-thrust leadership qualities. Worse, we Americans (lemmings)
continue voting these Peter Principle pariahs back into office!
-
- How, pray tell, did we devolve our nation into the clutches
of this energy crisis? Is it true that "We-the-People" fell
into a lethargic sleep and allowed our leaders to run amok?
-
- Our president and Congress remain obscenely irresponsible
to America!
-
- They knew about this crisis decades ago. Car manufacturers
knew oil reserves depleted as humanity sucked and burned 85 million barrels
of oil daily for decades. The Congress failed to provide a national focus,
so the manufacturers were free to cater to consumer egos. And so they
killed the electric cars, they stifled economy cars; and, they promoted
big V-8 engines with gas guzzling motors to bring on our energy crisis
EVEN faster.
-
- Worse, the American public, trusting as a box of gerbils
on a spinning wheel- thinking they're going somewhere- inanely and insanely
bought into bigger cars, larger engines and a less gas mileage paradigm
until we found ourselves in a Faustian dilemma.
-
- Now, Obama and McCain continue with their political charade
promising they work for renewable energy, wind energy and bio-fuel. What
does that mean? Answer: diddily squat nothing!
-
- Bio-fuels such as corn-ethanol prove net negative fuels,
depriving our poor of a basic staple as the costs skyrocket. Obama and
McCain's short-term, half-baked band-aid solutions pretend and promise
answers. Our nation stands nostril-deep in an energy crisis that needs
a whole new attitude and paradigm shift to save our civilization- but instead;
we discover both candidates offer archaic 20th century solutions in the
21st century.
-
- Result: certain failure!
-
- We need near-term AND long-range energy solutions
in parallel
-
- Why? Because solutions solely based on more drilling
to find more oil won't work as a stand-alone solution. We need near-term
resolution, to keep the national productivity moving while we urgently
develop a U S National New Paradigm Energy Strategic Plan.
-
- We MUST avoid throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
We need to use now-available modern-day "clean, ethical and responsible"
technologies to harvest and process our precious coal and petroleum assets
as an interim, short-term bridge.
-
- We MUST also, in parallel, capitalize upon our national
brainpower to urgently move into an "Energy Independent USA"
paradigm, free of ruthless control by foreign nations.
-
- "As we go from this happy hydrocarbon bubble we
have reached now to a renewable energy resource economy, which we do this
century, will the "civil" part of civilization survive? As we
both know there is no way that alternative energy sources can supply the
amount of per capita energy we enjoy now, much less for the 9 billion expected
by 2050. And energy is what keeps this game going. We are involved in
a Faustian bargain- selling our economic souls for the luxurious life of
the moment, but sooner or later the price has to be paid."
-
- - Walter Youngquist
-
- Until we awaken to the obvious, and realize that last-minute,
hip-shooting 'planning' at the end of our national nose just won't work
we accelerate toward our doom. Our U S National Strategic Plan MUST include
an ethical, balanced chapter on energy independence. Only after that Plan
manifests can we create the critically important U S National Energy Policy.
We can accomplish all of that with an urgent (no vacations allowed) effort.
We must pursue the pieces that we know will be effective NOW!
-
- We cannot and must not wait for a new president to take
office. The Strategic Plan can be drafted and refined on an urgent basis
in ninety days, if we get with it with the same focus that turned around
the WW-II mess. In that approach, we must focus upon things that are likely
to work, and discard things that are destined to fail. Why the latter?
We do not possess resources to waste.
-
- We MUST put our very best creative inventors to work,
and applaud them
-
- What idea might work? What new energy sources could
work? We MUST prioritize and incentivize the best approaches. Why won't
our leaders move out of old paradigms into new ones? Answer: money, power
and arrogant privilege of the power brokers!
-
- Instead of "saving" the criminals on both sides
of the Countrywide mortgage fiasco and bombing Iraq and Afghanistan into
the Stone Age while we spend $12 billion every 30 days we need to motivate
and incentivize our brightest folks in U S industry to put us back on track.
We MUST also avoid thinking that our government will do the work to get
us out of this mess. Socialism and creativity are juxtaposed.
-
- What is more reliable, on average, than our beloved Sun?
-
- Given national tax-incentives (at no cost to 'We-the-People')
our private companies will work with photovoltaic technology to create
infra-red and visible-spectrum sunlight power panels, perhaps two square
meters in size, to set on top of cars to charge the batteries to power
their electric engines. How about super battery-powered cars that charge
over night, with solar-panel assist in motion?
-
- Solar power grids can also power our engines of industry.
At the same time, hydrogen fueled power will carry a part of the load.
There are many other attractive sources to fill-out the fail-safe network.
We MUST wean ourselves of reliance upon 'bio-fuels' that cannot give us
the per capita energy we obtain from petroleum. By postponing investment
in strategic solutions, we fail ourselves as we burn oil, coal and natural
gas at insane rates until those resources are totally expended. There
are obvious alternatives available NOW.
-
- Sunlight shines for another five billion years!
-
- Yes, it might take a set of technology breakthroughs
the size of the Manhattan Project to accomplish our intentions- but we
cannot succeed as we continue our oil-motivated imperialist war activities
in third world countries.
-
- "The U.S. private sector must develop and make available
to consumers affordable, efficient vehicles that use solar-power-charged
super batteries, hydrogen cells, etc."
-
- ~ Sam Flack, physicist.
-
- Have we forgotten how to succeed?
-
- How about massive wind, wave and river turbine energy
going to waste daily while we waste fuel idling in traffic? Why haven't
the Colorado, Arkansas, Potomac, Columbia and other rivers been harnessed
with underwater turbines to catch all that power to provide electricity?
Our neighbors in Nova Scotia have already done some of that. Gentle readers,
old-paradigm dams may go the way of the Edsel automobile.
-
- How short-sighted and inept can Bush, Pelosi, Reid and
YOUR Members of Congress be? Are your state leaders also stuck in the
old paradigms?
-
- Finally, what topic does the media ignore like the plague?
-
- Supply and demand is the basic equation. Things like
runaway population growth are major drivers in the Energy Independence
equation. Another key to success is the education-level and economic wellness
of our electorate. When the U S moves toward becoming yet another third-world
nation, we have lost our senses and our healthy, viable future.
-
- It is totally illogical and responsible for the U S to
pretend to be a Law-and-Order nation while at the same time ignoring felonious,
greedy employers (root-cause) and encouraging millions upon millions of
needy foreign nationals to breach our porous international borders and
equally porous ports-of-entry armed with fraudulent-ID fabricated by felons.
We must come to terms with a stable, ethical, law-abiding, balanced and
sustainable population.
-
- "If present growth trends in population, industrialization,
pollution, food production and resource depletion continue unchanged, the
limits to growth will be reached sometime in the next 100 years."
-
- ~ The Club of Rome, 1972
-
- We are blessed with a myriad of brilliant people in the
U S folks that see our future clearly, and are willing to share those colorful
images. Laura Ingraham is speaking truth, as are Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter,
Lou Dobbs, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and others. Put your politics
aside and listen with an open mind. We are all in this mess TOGETHER.
We MUST dig our way out of this self-created hole TOGETHER.
-
- Visit ABC's Bob Woodruff's new web site for a discussion
on our civilization's future. In recovery, after a near-death experience
in Iraq, he asked input from all citizens concerning the future of our
planet. Go to www.earth2100.tv for a sobering reality check as to what
we face. Our 'window of opportunity' to change back to a balanced population
(as in 1980) and use of only non-polluting energy diminishes every day
we ignore the symptoms manifesting all over America and the planet.
-
- We MUST go back to basics, and focus upon our balanced
survival.
-
- Instead of waiting like a bunch of Blue Footed Boobies
of the Galapagos Islands to be slaughtered without protest, how about raising
our voices by demanding we enact a ten year moratorium on all immigration
both legal and illegal into this country. Let's allow our stable and sustainable
population to re-manifest in our nation.
-
- No more whining the time for urgent-action national
unity is NOW
-
- We MUST stop digging our hole deeper. It's time for
a major change and your voice must be the change-agent.
-
- Rampant population growth demands more and more energy
use. The most ignored and greatest issue facing America and the world
in the 21st century accelerates if you fail to speak up.
-
- Let's talk about it... and git 'er done!
