| Hello Jeff - In plain language, I believe the release
of GM mosquitoes in Florida to stop Zika is totally NUTS. First of all, let us see how Zika is getting into the US. Illegals, millions of illegals from Central, South America and the Caribbean, have brought cases back to the US when they go home to Zika-infected countries to visit family and bring home money for their families. We know that Zika cases increased around Christmas time when the illegals went home to visit family and friends. And, yes, there were some Americans who visited some Zika infected countries and may have brought a case or two back to the US. We KNOW that Brazil began to get a massive amount of Zika cases and a lot of complications of microcephaly and guillain barre syndrome AFTER Brazil released the GM mosquitoes to supposedly cut down on Zika cases. Why not simply take control of our borders and stop allowing illegals to enter the US without any sort of disease testing. We have all sorts of third world diseases showing up in the US now. We have an increase in TB. We even have cases of Leprosy, Typhoid, a polio like virus that came in with the unaccompanied minors. Scabies and all sorts of STDs also came in with illegals. Now we have a relatively new virus being spread by mosquitoes. What is the US and CDC waiting for, Polio, Ebola or other disease outbreak to kill more Americans? I say nix to the release of GM mosquitoes before the US gets the same situation as Brazil. Simply do something about people freely entering the US with diseases such as Zika, Chagas, Polio, Typhoid, Whooping Cough and Diphtheria and other infectious diseases. Forget the release of experimental genetically altered mosquitoes.
