Israel Waging War on Syria

For the second time in two days, Israel aggressively attacked Syria, striking two artillery launchers and an ammunition truck on its territory - flagrantly violating international law.

No Syrian provocation occurred on either day or any other time. Israel’s claim about responding to “Syrian projectiles launched toward Israel” was a phony pretext, trying to justify the unjustifiable.

Throughout over six years of US aggression on Syria, using ISIS and other terrorists as imperial foot soldiers, Assad’s forces never once attacked or threatened Israeli territory.

So-called errant mortar fire or other projectiles the IDF claimed landed in (illegally occupied) Golan likely came terrorists America and Israel support - a provocation they staged, likely complicit with Netanyahu’s regime, to provide a convenient pretext for the IDF to act aggressively.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), “(t)he General Command of the Army and Armed Forces said that the Israeli enemy attacked on Saturday a Syrian military position in Quneitra province in a desperate attempt to support terrorist groups.”

“(T)he General Command said that after army units succeeded in thwarting the wide-scale attack carried out by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists on the surroundings of al-Baath city in Quneitra countryside, which inflicted heavy losses upon the terrorists, the Israeli enemy attacked a Syrian military position in Quneitra in a desperate attempt to support terrorist groups and raise their flagging morale.”

“The General Command warned against the risks posed by such hostile acts and holds the Israeli enemy responsible for the serious repercussions if such acts reoccur under any pretext, affirming determination to crush terrorist groups which are the Israeli enemy’s proxy in the area.”

Israel’s claim about not tolerating the presence of Hezbollah or Iranian forces on its border with Syria, nor “allow(ing) any attempt to harm (its) sovereignty” are phony pretexts used to justify naked aggression against a nation posing it no threat.

Netanyahu and other regime hardliners claiming otherwise provides cover for wanting Syrian sovereignty destroyed, pro-Western puppet rule replacing Assad, no matter the human cost or severe breaches of international law.

Israel’s “policy” isn’t what Netanyahu states. He and other regime extremists want rival regional sovereign independent regional governments toppled, their countries balkanized, the Middle East map redrawn, giving Israel unchallenged control of its part of the world - together with America’s presence.

That’s the essence of what imperialism is all about - a vile scheme featuring endless wars of aggression, mass slaughter and destruction, colonization, resource control and subjugation of ordinary people.

For Israel, it’s the Middle East and creation of a greater state by expanding its borders, seizing territory from Syria, Lebanon and perhaps Egypt.

For America, it’s control over planet earth, eliminating Russian and Chinese sovereignty its ultimate objective.

For war-profiteers everywhere, it’s a bonanza in lucrative weapons and munitions sales.

All wars are waged for power and profits, no other reasons. US claims about humanitarian intervention, responsibility to protect and democracy building are convenient justifications for the unjustifiable.

Syrian and allied forces, greatly aided by Russian airpower, are winning the war against US and Israeli-supported terrorists, together with their rogue allies.

Illegal Pentagon operations in northern and southern Syria, along with aggressive Israeli cross-border attacks are attempts to turn the tide of battle in their favor.

The strategy is failing, so what’s next? Will US and Israeli warplanes increase aggressive attacks on Syria’s military? Will they attack Damascus?

Will Russia respond more forcefully than just statements opposing these tactics? Will US war on Syria head for resolution or will things escalate instead.

Much depends on unknown US and Israeli intentions.
