NYT Cheerleads Obama’s Libya 2.0 Aggression

By Stephen Lendman

America hasn’t waged war legally since WW II. All subsequent direct and indirect ones were and continue to be naked aggression against nonbelligerent states.

Media scoundrels suppress what’s most essential to report, notably The New York Times, a longstanding mouthpiece for wealth, power and privilege - its editors at it again, cheerleading Obama’s latest aggression instead of denouncing it.

Claiming he’s combating the scourge of ISIS ignores what Washington created and supports. Times editors lied, saying America’s military “open(ed) another front in its war against the terrorist group.”

They called the US-installed illegitimate Tripoli-based puppet regime “the country’s fledgling, internationally recognized” ruling authority - most parts of the nation controlled by a rival Benghazi-based government, disparate groups and tribes.

They lied, calling 2011 US-led naked aggression on a sovereign state “civil war.” Saying Obama “has long been hesitant to re-engage militarily” ignores endless conflict and chaos since he intervened belligerently in February 2011, a month later against Syria, besides other US raging war theaters since day one in office.

Claiming puppet prime minister Fayez Serraj asked Washington for airstrikes on ISIS turned truth on its head. On the one hand, he has no official legitimacy. On the other, he’s beholden to Washington, doing what he’s told.

“The United States had compelling reasons to act,” said Times editors.

Fact: America created and supports ISIS. Its elements operate where they’re deployed, used as imperial foot soldiers in multiple countries.

Times editors: “Stabilizing Libya will require a lasting commitment by the international community.”

Fact: As long as America continues its imperial rampaging, peace and stability are unattainable wherever it shows up - notably throughout the Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

No nation in world history represents a greater threat to world peace than the United States of endless wars on humanity.
