WaPo Maintains the Myth of US War on ISIS

Washington created and supports ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups, using them as imperial foot soldiers in Syria, Iraq and elsewhere.

The neocon/CIA-connected Washington Post claims otherwise, falsely saying “(t)he United States is committed to defeating the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria…”

Fact: Defeating ISIS and other terrorist groups requires ending US and other foreign support - supplying funding, weapons, munitions, training and direction, the CIA involved along with its counterparts in allied rogue states.

WaPo: “What security order will replace (ISIS), and which of the outside powers…in the region will stand behind that order?”

Fact: ISIS, al-Qaeda and similar groups remain resilient as long as US and other foreign support continue.

WaPo: “…Iran and Russia, along with their Syrian and Iraqi Shiite clients, (seek) to dominate the space that will be left when the Islamic State is driven from its capital of Raqqa in eastern Syria, which is under assault from US-backed Kurdish and Syrian Arab Forces.”

“Russia…hopes to drive the United States out of the region.”

Fact: At the request of its government, Russia and Iran are combating US-supported terrorists in Syria.

Fact: They support the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. They oppose US imperial lawlessness. They seek cooperative relations with all nations.

Fact: Russia does not seek to drive America out of the region or anyplace else.

WaPo: US warplanes struck Syrian and allied ground forces multiple times, most recently “convoys that entered a (unilaterally US declared) exclusion zone.”

“The Syrian fighter bomber shot down Sunday violated another exclusion zone” near Raqqa.

Fact: US-led coalition forces operate illegally in Syria.

Fact: US unilaterally declared “deconfliction” zones are flagrantly illegal.

Fact: Syrian aircraft and ground forces have a right to operate anywhere in their own territory.

WaPo: “…Iran’s missile attack (on ISIS targets in response to the June 7 Tehran terrorist incidents) was a bold assertion of its willingness to escalate militarily in Syria and maybe elsewhere in the region.”

Fact: Utter rubbish! With approval from Damascus, Iran justifiably retaliated against ISIS terrorists for killing its citizens in Tehran.

WaPo: Greater Iranian regional influence “would pose an existential threat to Israel.”

Fact: Iran threatens no one - not Israel or any other country. It seeks regional peace and stability - what Washington, NATO, Israel and their rogue allies oppose.

WaPo: “(T)he (Trump) administration may need to raise the military or economic pressures on Iran, Russia and the Syrian government while pressing for negotiations on a new Syrian political order.”

“US officials should make clear to (Russia) that if it continues to ally itself with Iran in the region, it will forfeit any chance of resetting relations with Washington.”

Fact: Russia, Iran and Syria justifiably oppose US meddling in their internal affairs, flagrantly violating international law.

Fact: Washington has been hostile toward Russia since its 1917 revolution. Nothing in prospect suggests a change of US policy any time in the foreseeable future - not as long as neocons run things.
