Our thanks to the person sending this in. This looks exactly like a 'rod'. There are, apparently, a number of life forms that live in the atmosphere, like fish in the water. They are in the visible light spectrum but are hard to see because they are almost translucent and move fast. They show up on infrared very clearly as well as standard video and digital stills.
