Desalinization Plants In California And Fukushima

By Devvy Kidd

I was born and raised in California; lived there 40 years. When my husband was transferred to Ft. Carson as the new DEH (Dir. Engineering and Housing) at Ft. Carson in 1989, I left for Colorado. The destruction of that beautiful state is all but complete.

California's state legislature has been controlled by socialists and Marxists for decades - since 1970, except for two years, '95 & '96. During that time, four governors were Republican, two Democratic/Communist Party USA. The whole country has watched California implode financially because of the never ending regulations slapped on businesses who can no longer stay in business, pension obligations and the cost of illegal aliens. The 2008 bust didn't help, but California was headed towards insolvency before that because of insane spending for decades.

What California Recovery? January Sales and Use Tax DOWN 9%

"You can tell the vibrancy of an economy by looking at the sales tax and use tax revenues. In January those were done 9% in California. That means while income tax collection were up, sales were down. People are either paying off debt or see the next hard Depression hitting the State and savings money for that reality.

"Oh, our cash deficit is only $12.6 billion. To Brown that is called a “surplus—he is confused. Sales and use taxes were $120.1 million below, or 9 percent, expectations. The State ended the month with a General Fund cash deficit of $12.6 billion, which was covered with both internal and external borrowing. That figure was down from last year, when the State faced a cash deficit of $15.7 billion at the end of January 2013.”

Foreclosures in California were up 57% in January. Some recovery underway. Job losses continue to mount:

A huge chunk of their financial insolvency is supporting illegal aliens and making sure they get preferential treatment and free everything. The two main reasons I left my home state for good in 2006 (John retired and we moved back to California for awhile) was astronomical personal state income taxes and illegals. Yes, Texas does have illegal aliens, but nothing like California even though our current governor, Rick Perry, is soft on them. I think for the most part, Texas is a pathway to states like NJ where illegals get support from politicians like Chris Christie.

It costs LA county alone $1.6 BILLION dollars last year to support liars, cheats and thieves. Every member of their county board of stupidvisors who votes to authorize funding is in violation of federal law:

"It was Truman who pushed the Federal Immigration and National Act of 1952 through Congress in the closing days of his administration. Under Section 8 USC 1324[a](1)(A)[iv][b](iii) any US citizen that knowingly assists an illegal alien, provides them with employment, food, water or shelter has committed a felony. City, county or State officials that declare their jurisdictions to be "Open Cities, Counties or States are subject to arrest; as are law enforcement agencies who chose not to enforce this law. Police officers who ignore officials who violate Section 8 USC 1324[a](1)(A)[iv][b](iii) are committing a Section 274 federal felony. Furthermore, according to Federal Immigration and National Act of 1952, if you live in a city, county or State that refuses to enforce the law for whatever reason, the officials making those rules are financially liable for any crime committed within their jurisdiction by an illegal alien."

Yet, not a single law enforcement agency in California has gone after the enablers which would send a clear message to the governor, former cocaine aficionado, Jerry Brown, their legislature and mayors in that state who protect illegals. As a matter of fact, last year governor Moonbeam Brown did something that should have prompted a recall and arrest:

California won't turn arrested illegal immigrants over to feds

"Reversing his position from a year ago, Gov. Jerry Brown on Saturday signed a law that shields illegal immigrants arrested on suspicion of many crimes from being turned over to immigration authorities. Coming on the heels of Brown signing a bill allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver's licenses, Brown's signature on the so-called Trust Act signaled a personal turnaround."

To further make a joke out of enforcing immigrations laws, the criminal syndicate out in DC has pulled another toxic trick while the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives does nothing:

California is, again, suffering a world class drought. If you go to this site, you'll see just how devastating it is. The first two photos are before and after of Lake Oroville in No. California where my 86-year old mother lives. The past few days California has received good, steady rain which is supposed to continue through Friday in many parts of the state, but it will not solve their problem. What they need is a healthy snow pack and while they'll get some, it's not enough. Farmers in the billion dollar crop belt are desperate, again. Ranchers are selling their beef out of state; no water. It is a dire situation.

It's estimated there are approximately 8 million illegal aliens in the State of California. How much water do you think 8 million illegals use everyday for baths, showers, cooking, cleaning, drinking, laundry, flushing toilets and other activities? In Sacramento, the average use per person is 279 gallons per day; SF gay Bay Area about 98, Palm Springs desert area a whopping 736 gallons a day and the LA basin where millions of liars, cheats and thieves live is about 180 gallons per day per person; see chart here.

Now you're talking millions of gallons of water used every day by illegal aliens who have no right to be in the State of California much less suck down her resources. The people in California who continue to vote for poltroons like Jerry Brown and reelect the same lunatics back to their legislature have no one to blame but themselves. It's not just illegals, it's also environmental zealots:

California Fights Two Droughts, One Of Them Man-Made

"Californians have not built a major reservoir since the New Melones Dam more than 30 years ago. As the state subsequently added almost 20 million people, it assumed that it was exempt from creating any more "unnatural" Sierra lakes and canals to store precious water during California's rarer wet and snowy years.

"Short-sightedness soon became conceit. Green utopians went further and demanded that an ailing 3-inch bait fish in the San Francisco delta receive more fresh oxygenated water. In the last five years, they have successfully gone to court to force millions of acre-feet of contracted irrigation water to be diverted from farms to flow freely out to sea.

"Others had even grander ideas of having sal-mon again in their central rivers, as they recalled fishing stories of their ancestors from when the state population was a fifth of its present size and farming a fraction of its present acreage. So they too sued to divert even more water to the sea in hopes of having game fish swim from the Pacific Ocean up to arid Fresno County on their way to the supposedly ancestral Sierra spawning grounds. The wages of both nature's drought and human folly are coming due."

And:

"While the rains have not come down in the amounts needed, pouring 800,000 acres feet of water into the ocean last year because of the delta smelt is downright dumb. The Central Valley needs water, yet 50% of its water goes to the protection of fish. California has not been allowed to build a new water storage facility since 1972—when the environmentalists win the people of the State lose—and we have been losers for more than 40 years.

“Short-sightedness soon became conceit. Green utopians went further and demanded that an ailing 3-inch bait fish in the San Francisco delta receive more fresh oxygenated water. In the last five years, they have successfully gone to court to force millions of acre-feet of contracted irrigation water to be diverted from farms to flow freely out to sea."

Environmentalists Fraud—Want Farms to Close Down—THEN Refuse to Allow Development or Use of Land

"The environmental movement has destroyed as many jobs as Obama—both claiming to “help”. California has a drought, so the enviros have a solution—close down farms. Of course the farmers will still be paying taxes on the land—they will want to develop it. At that point the environmentalists will claim we do not have the water or that an expensive EIR will show a heretofore unknown animal, bug or fish exists and needs protection—at the cost of the farmer.

"This is how environmentalists steal private land—they create policies that make the land unusable, then the owners have to walk away. Shame on us for allowing these thieves to steal, again. “She says instead of spending an estimated $67 billion on the governor's tunnels, a much smaller amount of money should be spent on buying up impaired land on the west side of the San Joaquin Valley and taking it out of growing thousands of almond and pistachio trees and miles of grape vines. But it's not just the growth of permanent crops on the west side of the valley that has helped put the state into a water emergency, says Bill Jennings, executive director of the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance.”

I am also convinced weather modification programs run by the U.S. government, the aerosol spraying of our skies, has drastically changed our weather patterns causing all of us to suffer. Geoengineering is yet another issue that can't be covered in 500 words or less. However, there are excellent, FACTUAL web sites for more information: Brazen Propaganda From NASA (aerosol crimes) by Clifford E Carnicom. Full list of his columns is here. Also: Agriculture Defense Coalition has thousands of documents.

During my adult years while living in California, there were droughts. I always wondered why California didn't built desalinization plants? The single main factor fed to the public is too expensive. Well, when you have a multi-year drought that racks up BILLIONS for several years in a row in crop losses, unemployment and higher food costs for everyone, how expensive is that? Better to spend BILLIONS keeping liars, cheats and thieves in the state illegally. How expensive do you think this will be heaped on the backs of American citizens in California trying to put food on the table:

UCLA Study: 125,000 Illegal Alien Youth Eligible for FREE MediCaid—ObamaCare a Magnet for Criminals From Foreign Nations

And, yet, the voters of California continue to put up with it. You watch, all those Democratic/Communist USA incumbents in their legislature will get reelected this year. Financial suicide. Lawlessness by a state legislature, the governor and attorney general.

There are seventeen desalinization plants in the planning stages in California with the biggest desalinization plant in the Western hemisphere already under construction set to start the water flowing in two years. As it so happens, it's in Carlsbad (above San Diego) where I will be next month. That $1 billion dollar plant will provide 50 million gallons of water a day - just one plant. $1 billion for life saving water vs tens of billions in tax dollars over the last decade to keep illegal aliens in the state instead of deporting them. This article has a good breakdown on those plants.

Two years is a long time when you consider just how bad off California is and will be if they don't get at least another 15" of rain after the storm hitting them right now. Ideally, another two feet of water would boost those reservoirs, but at the rate California drinks water, Californians had better pray for more rain before summer.

I'm also wondering about Fukushima and water coming out of the Pacific Ocean. The effects of Fukushima have been poo-poo'd by media, politicians and some scientists. I did a column on it last year: Fukushima: What You Need to Know. It's only gotten worse. While I understand the basics of taking salt and other impurities out of the water, desalinization does not remove radiation:

New York's First Desalination Plant Raises Radiation Fears

If you go to Rense.com, right in the middle of the page is a plethora of articles about Fukushima. This article contains useful information about radiation exposure:

"According to the National Academy of Sciences, there are no safe doses of radiation. Decades of research show clearly that any dose of radiation increases an individual's risk for the development of cancer. “There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period,” said Jeff Patterson, DO, immediate past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility. “Exposure to radionuclides, such as iodine-131 and cesium-137, increases the incidence of cancer. For this reason, every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water.”

“Consuming food containing radionuclides is particularly dangerous. If an individual ingests or inhales a radioactive particle, it continues to irradiate the body as long as it remains radioactive and stays in the body,” said Alan H. Lockwood, MD, a member of the Board of Physicians for Social Responsibility."

Some restaurants in the Southern California area are no longer serving any fish coming out of the Pacific Ocean. Fukushima is a major disaster, a crime against humanity that's already affecting the U.S. While those desalinization plants are desperately needed, it would be criminal for California not to test the water being sucked into the plant because of Fukushima - even two years down the road. From day one it was and still is being handled by incompetent fools who have put an ocean and millions of people at risk - all for money.

Fukushima happened three years ago March 11th; the fall out from it has been moving at us for years. That plant is still an on-going, deadly disaster as they continue to pump massive amounts of contaminated water into the ocean. That is not hyperbole. Like so many others, I've been following it for years. The day is coming when the controlled "mainstream" media and politicians can no longer cover it up with propaganda.
